dress code

maya looked at herself in the mirror one last time before she decided that she looked good enough for school. she was wearing her brand new off the shoulder shirt that was maroon, one of her favorite colors. she was also wearing a denim skirt with black knee high heeled boots and she had to say that she thought she looked hella cute. maya grabbed her bag and phone before heading out to riley's to pick her up.

maya knocked on the door of riley's apartment and waited for her best friend to open it.

"peaches!! good morning!" riley squeaks wrapping her arms around mays's neck.

"good morning honey!" maya smiles looking at her adorable best friend.

"you look hot! what a hot mama! wowza!" riley laughs.

"aw i love ya riles! you look great too!" she says as they walk into the house.

"there's my fierce amazon warrior! come eat sweetie!" topanga says setting two plates down for maya and riley. they both laugh and go sit at the table as mr. matthews joins them. they all sit down and start to eat their breakfast.

"oooh maya is that a new top?" topanga asks smiling.

"it is actually, shawn got it for me!" she smiles taking a bite of her pancakes.

"is the skirt new too?" riley asks.

"uh kinda, this is the one lucas got me for my birthday." she shrugs.

"hmm all he gave me for my birthday was a gift card. how did he know which skirt you wanted and what size you were?" riley asks suspicious.

"oh we went shopping over break and i told him that i wanted it. guess he just went back and bought it! what's the big deal?" she asks eating some fruit.

"oh nothing i was just wondering." riley says continuing to eat her breakfast. maya furrows her eyebrows and does the same. topanga and corey exchange a concerned look and finish eating as well.

after riley and maya finish their food, they both start on their walk to school.

"so i'm still confused as to why he got you clothes for your birthday and he only got me a gift card. like shouldn't he have gotten me more? i mean don't we have a thing going on?" riley asks with a tint of concern in her voice.

"riley i don't know! lucas and i are just friends and maybe he just didn't know what you wanted! it's really not that big of a deal." maya says with a sigh as she runs her hands through her hair. both of the girls start to talk about something else and laugh on their way to school.

when they get to school, they go to meet up with the boys of the group.

"shortstack, you look great in the skirt i bought you." lucas smirks greeting maya.

"well thank you huckleberry. i appreciate the gift very much." maya smiles looking up at him. riley looks between the two with a look of concern on her face while farkle and zay just smirk at the two blondes in front of them. as the group stands there and talks, their math teacher, miss lentz walks by.

"miss hart, you are definitely out of dress code. you either put something on over your shirt or be sent home to change immediately." miss lentz says with her lips pursed and hands folded.

"excuse me? how the hell am i out of dress code?" maya asks with a bit of sass in her voice.

"your shirt shows your shoulders and your cleavage, and your skirt is definitely not long enough." she says.
