lucaya day eight!

christmas dinner

today was christmas, an unfortunate holiday for maya. her mom always was working on christmas eve and when she was home, she never got anything as a gift and her mom was always tired so she fell asleep right away. and she never had a dad until recently. this year, katy and shawn decided to go on a trip, and maya wanted them to go, so she wasn't feeling too lonely. usually she would go to the matthews house, but they went to philadelphia for the holiday. so here maya was all alone in her apartment watch home alone, ironic right?

as maya was about to start the movie, her phone rang. she looked down and saw that it was lucas calling her.

"what's up ranger rick?" she asks as she answers the phone.

"hey i need a favor from you." he says in an anxious tone.

"what?" she asks in a sassy tone.

"i need you to pretend to be my girlfriend." he says. maya spits out her water and coughs.

"what the hell? no! absolutely not!" she says shaking her head.

"maya please! my family won't stop asking me about my girlfriend and i told her that i was gonna go pick her up. so please." he says dragging it out.

"what's in it for me?" she asks.

"free food." he says.

"okay fine. what do i have to wear?" she asks.

"anything. you look beautiful in whatever you wear." he says.

"okay. i'll see you soon huckleberry." she says.

"bye. i'll call you when i get to your house." he says and then hangs up. maya stands up and sighs before walking to her room to find something to wear. she grabs an oversized red sweater that goes down to her mid thigh and then grabs some thigh high black boots. she applies her makeup and puts some hoop earrings on. she leaves her hair down and stares into the mirror at herself.

"what am i getting myself into? huckleberry, huckleberry." she says and then hears a knock on her door. she walks over to the door and opens it to see lucas looking stressed out and staring at the ground.

"hey heehaw." maya says getting his attention.

"wow maya, you look beautiful." lucas says looking up at her as his jaw drops.

"thank you lucas, you don't look too bad yourself." she says with a blush.

"alright, come on." he says taking her hand in his. she locks her door and then lets lucas lead her to his car. they get in the car and lucas starts to drive to his house.

"so how did this happen?" maya asks.

"they just kept asking if i had a girlfriend so i just made one up. and you're my only girl friend that's in town so i just asked you." he says.

"alright, so like do i have to do anything?" she asks.

"just be cute and act like a girlfriend i guess." he says chuckling.

"well i got the cute thing in the bag." she says flipping her hair making both of them laugh. for the rest of the car ride, maya and lucas jam out to the christmas songs on the radio and have fun together.

when they arrive to lucas's house, lucas opens the door for maya and maya grabs his hand. his eyes widen and he looks down at their hands intertwined.

"what? we have to act like a couple." maya says shrugging. if she was being honest, she loved the feeling of her tiny hand in lucas's big one. it felt soothing and it calmed her down in a way. they walked into lucas's house and he introduced maya to his family as his girlfriend. they all liked her and thought she was a very sweet girl.

at dinner, lucas and maya sat next to each other and laughed a lot.

"mrs. friar this is amazing. i don't remember the last home cooked meal i had. thank you." maya says with a smile.

"oh no problem sweetie! i'm glad you liked it!" mrs. friar says with a wide smile. a smile grows on lucas's face as he watches the exchange between two of his favorite people.

"do you want dessert?" lucas asks maya.

"are you kidding me? of course!" maya says making lucas laugh. he gets up and grabs her a slice of chocolate cake before sitting down next to her.

"feed me. it'll be cute." maya whispers in his ear. lucas nods and grabs a fork and starts feeding maya pieces of chocolate cake.

"holy shit, this is delicious." she says moaning in satisfactory making lucas laugh.

"you're so cute." he says chuckling taking a bite of cake.

"oh hell no, you did not just take some of my cake!" maya says.

"oh yes, yes i did." lucas says.

"i hate you." she says glaring at him.

"sure ya do penelope." he says smirking at her. she narrows her eyes at him before taking the last bite of cake.

"you two really are such a cute couple." one of lucas's uncle says.

"thank you." lucas says wrapping his arm around maya. she smiles and lays her head on his shoulder.

after dinner, everyone decides to play music and dance around. maya and lucas dance to one of maya's favorite songs as she sings the lyrics.

"you really do look beautiful." he says putting his hands on her waist as they both slow down.

"stop it. you're gonna make me blush." she says looking down at her boots.

"i don't think you want me to." he says putting his hand on her cheek and lifting her face up to his. her bright blue eyes meet his stunning green ones and both of them get a strong urge to kiss each other. they both lean in and kiss one another softly. once they pull away, they have a deep blush on their cheeks.

"woah, my boyfriend's a good kisser." maya says biting her lip.

"my girl's a pretty good one too." lucas says caressing her heated cheeks.

after lucas's family started to leave, he decided to drive maya home. maya danced in her seat the whole ride home and lucas just laughed at her.

"christmas!" lucas shouts.

"the snow's coming down!" maya shouts.

"christmas!" he shouts.

"i'm watching it fall!" she shouts.

"christmas!" he shouts.

"lots of people around!" she shouts.

"baby please come home!" lucas and her shout together making them both die of laughter.

when lucas arrives at maya's house he walks her to the door.

"thank you for tonight, maya." he says looking at her.

"no thank you for tonight huckleberry." she says with a smile. "i think we should fake date more often."

"yeah maybe we can fake date again on friday." he says.

"is this your way of asking me out friar?" she asks.

"am i doing a good job?" he asks and she nods giggling. "then yes." he says laughing.

"i'd love to." she says. she leans up to kiss him and he kisses back.

"merry christmas maya." lucas says against her lips.

"merry christmas lucas." maya says against his lips as they both smile.
