"C'mon, Trin, we gotta get you there before the crowd comes! You MUST register first!" Carmine stated as she pulled my toward the subway station. She had started calling me Trin as she thought she should call me something of her own. I didn't mind, really.

"Carmy..." I whined. "There's no rush! We've got 4 hours before the registration opens."

"Simon reserved you a space remember? You should show some enthusiasm at least!" Ever since she found out Simon wanted me for the X-Factor, she had been requesting me to practice every day for 3 hours. Rolling my eyes, I let her drag me into the subway and we headed to Amsterdam.

"Go go go!" Carmine squealed as she pushed me-lightly-toward the registration booth. It was the nearest to our house-Carmine moved in a few weeks ago-and there was no one there.

"Um...hi there," I asked awkwardly.

"Hello, my dear!" A kind old lady peered at me through her glasses. "Are you registering for the next season on the X-Factor UK?" I nodded in confirmation. "You're a little early," A little early by three and a half hours, you mean. "But Simon is still here and will be with you in a second. Now, give me your full name, address, age, school (if any), song choice and what category you're participating in. " Seeing Carmine heading away to answer a call, probably from Andrew, I took a deep breath and told her what I'd originally intended to do.
"Therese Serene Branwell, 18," I rambled on until I came to the song. "For the song, I'd pick..." I hesitated, unsure. "Um, Run by Leona Lewis."

"Thank you for registering, Simon will be with out shortly." The kind old lady gave me a smile as she gestured toward the booth behind her.

"Trin, that was the worst song you could've chosen!" Carmine exclaimed. "You're better at pop."

"Christina IS pop!" I replied indignantly. Shrugging Carmine led me into the booth. I rapped loudly at the wooden door which had a plague 'Cowell'.

"Oh, hey girls." Simon's head appeared as the door opened. "Hey, Simon." We chorused as he let us in. "How're the wife and kids?" I asked him. "Splendid." He replied cheerfully. "I reckon you just registered?"

"Yeah. Be ready to hear me on the stage!"

"Cheryl and I will be honored to."

"Cheryl Cole's back?" I received a nod in reply. "Great! Simon, are you currently free?"

"No, I'm expensive. Yes I am currently. Why?"

"Let's go out to ease you up a little. You can bring the wife and kids too. You seem too tense." His forehead creased into a frown.

"It's just that I think Sony doesn't want to sign the boys anymore. They aren't doing as well as Emblem 3 or Fifth Harmony but I suppose you can't compare." I felt like punching Sony right in the face but I felt like it would cause the boys more trouble. Sighing, I shrugged blatantly. Things that were meant to happen happen.

1 month later...

"Zachary, tell me when it's going to happen?" my mother pleaded with me as we were eating her home cooked speciality-my favorite, Carne guisada. Strangely enough, mine was always topped with bacon. I nearly choked on my food when she said that. Coughing to clear my windpipe, I mentally thanked the gods Trinity was busy and this was purely a family dinner. "Which one do you mean?" I managed to croak out. My father gave me a small grin. "When're you gonna get married?" I choked on my drink this time, immediately lapsing into a coughing fit, I buried my face in my hands as I cleared my lungs. In front of my sisters too. "Stop scaring me, Mom." I muttered as I recovered my breath. "So..." my father asked. "No?"

"In like no time soon maybe. We're not even engaged yet!"

"Mom, they've been dating for two years only!" My sister interjected.

"So? She's a nice girl." My mother said indignantly.

"Dad?" I nudged him and pleaded him with my eyes for help. He took the hint and motioned for me to follow him, leaving my mother and sister to squabble.

Unfortunately, it was clear he was on my mother's side completely.

"You should consider it soon, son. You're almost twenty!" My mouth gaped open.

"What?" By the look on his face, he probably wanted to be a great-grandfather before he died.

I didn't promise my mother we'd get married in a week, but I did promise I'd get Trinity a ring at least, so my mother forced my father and I to the nearest jewelry shop to get a ring.

The one I chose wasn't really fancy, just a simple silver band with a square of amber set on it to match her eyes.

"What do you think?" I asked my father as the shop assistant held it up. He gave me a warm smile and nodded in agreement. "She'll love it."

With that, the two of us bought the ring and exited the shop with a huge smile on my face.
