(Trinity's P.OV)
It could've been the worst possible day of my life. First of all, I woke up late and feeling utterly pissed for some apparent reason, my fingers bruised badly from all the late night practicing and packing. Something bad was to happen and I could feel it. Carmine commented that I had probably woken up on the wrong side of the bed and replied angrily with a "a wall has always been on the right side of that damned bed!" She finally remained silent as I sulked on the couch with Puff licking my fingers. Aargh, disgusting.
After a while, as I daydreamed of many other places I could be apart from this strangely sweltering hot house in the middle of bloody January, Carmine couldn't stand the silence anymore. "So, do you want to know where the boys went?" I shrugged blatantly, despite my increasing curiosity. She saw right through my uncaring facade and told me anyway. "They're off to the studio either recording or writing." Lucky them. Then, Puff nosed my palm pleadingly, staring at me with those dratted puppy dog eyes. "Hungry already?" I groaned, not wanting to get up. "I'll do it instead. You stay here and find some sappy movie to watch," Carmine offered and picked up Puff without waiting for an answer. Sometimes, I felt like I loved this girl more. "Oh, and turn on the air conditioning too!" She called over her shoulder and she brought Puff into the kitchen. I grinned and hit the controller immediately, regretting it slightly after it sent a sharp pain up my wrist. Perhaps I should repay her by forcing myself to watch her favorite movie of all time-Titanic.We did end up watching Titanic, which Carmine thanked me hugely for, but it wasn't until near eleven did we stop watching movies, having wasted the day away anyway. "They've been writing so much lately," Carmine suddenly voiced out. I nodded in agreement, not getting the hint. She tried again. "Have you seen them around nowadays?" I shrugged. "The three of them leave early and come back late, I don't see the point of writing your arses off whilst trying not to fall asleep."
"What about you?" Carmine said, eyes still glued to the screen.
"What about me?"
"Have you been, you know, writing?"
I remained silent and stared at my bruised fingers. Just then, the noise from the door slamming apart saved me from answering. With a peculiar feeling, I waited for Carmine's reaction before turning. Her face went blank, then was confused and settled for a strange expression I couldn't put my finger on. "Tri?" She said in a strangled voice before rising. I took a deep breath before turning, and was met with exactly what I'd expected. Jared was supporting two familiar drunkards by the names of a certain Zach and Andrew as Carmine hurried to help him. Jared turned to me sadly, with what I'd been afraid of since the beginning written all over his face. "He did, didn't he?" I said tightly, my face betraying none of the emotions I was struggling with. The nod was enough confirmation. It felt as though someone had stuck a knife in my back and twisted. I stood up, my mouth set in a grim line. "I'll take him." I called and grasped Zach from Jared with surprising tenderness. Zach peered blearily at me, cheeks flushed and hair messed up cutely. "Lizzie?" He mumbled. I felt something snap inside me but gave him a small smile. "Thank you for the past few...night, but I'd better go now." He muttered, tripping over his own feet as he tried to reach for my hand. Carmine gave me a sympathetic smile as she let Jared rest while struggling with her own boyfriend. "C'mon, Zach, let's get you back to bed." I murmured softly as I tried to lead him up the stairs. "Hmm...bed..." he gave me a drunk, flirtatious grin. I bit my lip and pulled him to his room slowly. He was drunk and probably wouldn't remember a thing. I considered my options and sighed. I dropped my walls and let him in for the first and last time.~
I sat at the edge of his bed. The house was dark and everyone else was asleep. A few days ago, we were alright, but look at where we are now. His features were peaceful and he rolled over slightly, mumbling something. "I suppose this is the best for us," I whispered as I stood up, slipping the ring over my finger. So much for promises. "Goodbye Zach." I gave him a small kiss on the cheek before leaving. Perhaps it was too cruel to leave him while he was not going to remember what happened at all, but he had done what he'd done and I wasn't going to wait for the media to catch on first. With my guitar case slung over my shoulder, I pulled a small luggage to the door and was about to leave when the lights behind me flickered on. "Trinity?" came a voice from behind me. I froze, not knowing what to do. "Yes?" I turned slightly, seeing Jared standing in the doorway. "Where're you goin'?"
"Britain. I can't stay knowing what he did." I responded lightly.
"Thank you, anyway. For all of it." I could see the genuine light in his eyes and allowed a small smile to resurface.
"Say bye to Andy and Carmie for me." With that, I stepped out of the place I'd called home for several months and shut the door behind me with a finality, breathing in the cool night breeze before heading to the airport.~
I clutched the air ticket tightly in my hand as I boarded the plane and set off for England. As I took my seat, I couldn't help but think of the future before me. It seemed pretty bleak anyway, so I dismissed it quickly. It would be simply brilliant if there was a sudden distraction to put my mind off things. Just then, a familiar young man in his twenties showed up and sat next to me. "Hello there, I'm Colton...Trinity?"
Well, damn my life.
He just had to go on holiday, didn't he?
