(Zach's P.O.V.)

I paced up and down backstage as I waited for our turn to perform. We had already done our duet with Jeff and were waiting for the other performance. I wished we could've just followed last year's top 4 and did a group performance instead of those duets. "Zach, you really need to stop pacing and calm down. This is really not helping at all!" I heard Andrew call and took a deep breath. It didn't work. "I can't!" I nearly growled in frustration. Colton stood up and walked over to me, stopping my pacing effectively by placing his hands on my shoulders. "We, are going to do great. We are going to go out there and kill it like we do every week." He told me. I sighed and nodded, trying to shrug off my worries. I sat beside Colton after Jeff ended his song. The tension was so thick I had this strangely strong urge to get a knife and slice the air. Ali (Vocal Coach) handed us the microphones not long after.

--------------After the break--------------

"Restless Road, you're on in 5!" I heard Ali call to us. I could hear Simon introducing us as we were led onto the stage. "3, 2, 1!" The music blared through the speakers as the lights turned on. Then, I saw a beautiful angel staring at me from the audience. She gave me a big grin and disappeared in the midst of screaming fans.

I beamed widely as we got off the stage. For some reason, I was extremely happy. Trinity was waiting with Simon backstage. Colton smiled when he saw Trinity as well. Those two had bonded while the truth or dare game and I was fine about it but if he lays a single finger out of her boundaries I would murder him in his sleep. Simon congratulated us when we reached him. I gave Trinity a big hug and she smiled. "Y'all were great!" She exclaimed. "I really hope you get to the finals!"

"I really hope so too..." I trailed off as I looked around me. This is what we earned, I thought to myself in amazement as I heard the screaming of the fans outside. "In celebration," Simon told us suddenly, shattering my web of thoughts. "I'd like to treat any of you to a meal. How does that sound?" Seeing to hopeful look on Trinity's face, he added. "Yes, Trinity, you too." She beamed happily, lighting up the atmosphere immediately.
