Chapter 30

(Trinity's P.O.V)

"Aw, c'mon, Chloe! Tell me what's his news?" I begged her as I strummed lightly on a guitar absentmindedly. "Well," she sighed. "it is what you and Simon feared..." I nearly dropped my phone. "No way..." I breathed. "He can't do that though, it would ruin all of their careers!" Chloe sighed again. "I tried, Tri. I tried my best but all I could do before I left was give my opinion on which was a better choice." I flopped back onto my bed, single tear running down my cheek. "I guess I too have no chance in convincing him then. The other two will be distraught. Simon's gonna be so mad...however, how's the research going back there?" I tried to change the subject quickly. "Oh, you wouldn't believe it, Tri! I'm their top junior scientist!" she squealed excitedly. Laughing at her usual childish antics that I'd missed so much, I felt excitedly for her. I mean, it's not everyday you find out your old best friend is going to be a famous scientist, right?

(Colton's P.O.V)

I wrung my hands nervously as I perched on the edge of my bed. Andrew and Zach were my best buds and Simon was easily the best uncle I never had, but by choosing a solo career, I was giving that all up. Taking a deep breath, I stood up. "You made your choice, Colt. Time to face the music." I muttered to myself before calling Simon, Andrew, Zach and Trinity. I didn't know why I called Trinity but I always felt she played an important role in Restless Road. Maybe she can replace you, a small voice said in my head. "Maybe..." I mummered. "but I hope I made the right choice. Chloe never did agree with my decision." I felt a wrench of pain in my heart as I thought of her beautiful blue eyes staring at me in shock and disappointment as I told her my news a month ago. "You'll let Trinity down, Colt. Trust me, you don't want to do that." Those were her last words to me before she set off for the research centre in the Arctic. Now, here I was, waiting for the four o them to arrive and tell them of me making what Chloe thought was the wrong decision. Oh, well...

(Zach's P.O.V)

"Well?" I asked Colton once Andrew, Simon, Trinity and I were settled on the couch. I watched as he took a deep breath.

"I want a solo career." Trinity buried her face in her hands. "God dammit." Andrew cursed. Then, he took a calming breath. "I'm entirely supportive of your idea and I'm sure Zach is too, but are you sure about this?" He asked Colt. I nodded in agreement. "I put the three of you together for a reason. I didn't make thins group for fun, Colton. You're not going to be signed by me if you're going solo." Simon told him seriously. Trinity took a shuddering breath beside me and I wrapped an arm around her. Then, she looked up, her amber orbs slightly bloodshot. "It's been nice working with you," she sniffed. "Mr Pack." With that, she shrugged my arm off lightly, gave me a small smile and headed out of the door. "Whatever your choice is, we don't choose it for you, and we understand, but make sure you're making the right one." I stated, choosing my words carefully. "Don't do anything stupid without us!" Andrew exclaimed suddenly. I cracked an actual smile.
