The quarry was noisy, surrounded by seven loud voices of the Losers Club, a group of eight kids from Derry High School. The final, and newest member, Mykie, hadn't arrived yet. "Hey guys!" she called, kicking the stand of her bike up as she finally came to the quarry. "Sorry I'm late." She gave a small smile, her black braces gleaming in the bright sun. She pushed a strand of curly black hair behind her ear, walking over to them.

Beverly greeted with a wave, while the others just nodded at her. The redhead has always been the nicest to Mykie. Well, everyone was nice to Mykie, except one. "About time you showed up, Brace-Face," commented Richie Tozier, Derry's infamous trash-mouth. Richie and Mykie never got along, always bickering and fighting. "We've been waiting forever to jump."

Mykie rolled her eyes. "Ten minutes is not forever, Four-Eyes," she snapped. "Your concept of time is about as impressive as your history with girls. Non-existent."

A couple of the kids chuckled under their breath, while Richie glared at the girl. He opened his mouth to respond, but Stan interrupted. "Okay, okay. Can we have one day where you two don't attempt to rip each other's arms off, please?"

"Of course," Mykie grinned, narrowing her eyes at Richie, who shrugged with a roll of his eyes. The group sighed happily, and one-by-one, they all jumped off the cliff into the water

The day went on filled with laughter and giggling, until Beverly splashed Mykie with a huge wave of water, soaking the girl. Pushing her hair from her brown eyes, Mykie threw water back at the redhead. It was on. The two girls were at war, drenching each other back and forth while attempting to avoid the splashes of the other.

Mykie thought she had Beverly in a trap, so she put both her hands together and forced the biggest wave of water yet at the girl. Beverly, however, jumped out of the way, and the water dumped onto the person behind her. Richie. "Holy shit!" Mykie cried, running towards the boy. "Richie, I am so sorry! That was meant for Bev, but she dodged it, and-," she rambled on.

"Shut up," the boy interrupted her. "Shut up! For once in your fucking life, shut the hell up!" He was screaming at her with a furious glare, while everyone else stared at the unfolding scene. He was pissed, more so than usual. "You are so fucking annoying! I can't stand having you around me all the fucking time! If it was up to me, you wouldn't even be in the Losers Club, just because you never shut the fuck up or stop being so fucking annoying!"

Mykie only stood there, looking at him until her finished. Her gaze dropped to the water, and she bit at her cheek. Her eyes became watery, filling with tears. One dropped into the water, making a small ripple. She sniffled before looking back up at the boy. "I'm sorry," she whispered. She glanced at the shore. "I'll just go."

She dashed out of the water, heading back up the path to the top of the cliff, while the others shouted her name. She grabbed her clothes and bike, pedaling off back home. Richie only watched as she left, before the others scolded him for what he did.

The following day, the Losers Club went to the barrens. Mykie didn't show up. The next day, they went into town and got ice cream. She never came. The day after that, they hung out at Bill's house. She wasn't there. This went on for a week. Mykie never arrived for anything.

The others blamed it on Richie, and Even Richie felt the same. It was a strange feeling for Richie to feel guilty about anything, but for some reason, he hated himself for saying what he did. He didn't mean what he said, none of it. He lost his temper over something stupid, an accident, and took it out on Mykie.

Mykie had stayed home the whole time, rarely leaving her room. What Richie said had hurt her. She knew she talked a little too much and was a little loud at points, but what he told her had made her feel terrible. She was upset. Not at Richie, but at herself. Had she been annoying and not realized it? Did everyone feel the same way? Did they even want her in the Losers Club?

The eighth day of loneliness came, and her parents went to work, leaving her home alone again. She managed to exit her bedroom and go to the living room, where she turned on cartoons, not really caring that it was a little kid's show.

It was only about ten in the morning when someone knocked on the door. She rolled off the couch and walked to the front door, opening it slightly. The sight shocked her. "Richie?" The boy looked down with slouched shoulders. "What are you doing here?"

"I was hoping I could come in?" he asked, and Mykie slowly opened the door. He entered, and they went to the living room, where Mykie sat on the couch and Richie sat in an armchair. They didn't say anything for about five minutes, both of them feeling awkward in this situation. Richie finally spoke up, "I'm sorry." Mykie looked at him with wide eyes. The Richie Tozier was apologizing to her. "Please come back."

Mykie's eyes fell to the ground. "I thought you didn't want me to hang out with you guys anymore. I thought I was annoying. I thought you hated me."

"I don't hate you, Mykie!" Richie exclaimed, hopping up from the armchair. "God, no, I don't hate you. I feel guilty as fuck for saying that shit to you. I didn't mean it, I swear. I had been angry and frustrated with things lately, and it all kinda blew up on you."

Mykie gave him a surprised look. "What kind of things?"

Richie sighed, mentally debating whether or not to answer. "I've just been angry and frustrated at myself. I wanted to tell you something for a long time and I haven't had the balls to do it, because I've been too nervous. And, that comes out in fury, I guess." Mykie held his eyes, and he burst out, "I like you, Mykie. I always have, but I'm not good at talking or cheesy romantic stuff so it just came out as me arguing with you. I've never hated you and I don't think you're annoying. I do like listening to you talk, and-," he began to blabber on.

The girl cut him off by placing her lips on his. When they pulled away, she said. "You're rambling. And I like you too, Tozier."

Richie broke out into a smile. "I guess my history with girls is better than my concept of time now?" Mykie rolled her eyes, and Richie placed his lips on hers again.
