I made myself a sandwich for dinner. Then had a shower and went to bed. I grabbed my laptop and got on Facebook. I saw a friend request from "Addison Hart".
I accepted with a smile growing on my face that I didn't notice. I sent him a text:
"We should play basketball more often. It was fun."

He replied instantly.

"Yeah, it was. Can I see you again tomorrow? I have the day off."

Day off?

"Yeah, it's a Saturday tomorrow so I'm free. What time and what place?"

"You wanna go get milkshakes? At the cafe on the High Street, at noon? I am obsessed with this new flavour. Vanilla, cookie crumble."

"Oh ma gawd. YAS!"

"Haha"

"See you"

"Night Zariah"

The next morning I went to the kitchen.
"Good morning," I said.
There was a silence.
Right, no mom. She hasn't come back.
I grabbed a cookie from the jar and returned to my room. It was 11:30. I quickly swapped my pyjamas with clothes and got myself ready.
I was out of the house by 11:50.

The High Street was quiet. As I approached the cafe, I see a familiar figure standing by it. My eyes vaguely see its head turned to me, then its hand wave.
'Hey!' I yell over to him. I've realized that I have weirdly missed him. Even though it's only been a day.
'Hey,' he chuckled, walking over to me, 'How are you doing?'
'I'm doing great. You?'
'Fabulous.' He smirked.
Only now does it occur to me that I'm such a more lively and happier person around this boy.
We entered the cafe, taking a seat at the bar.
'You need to have this.' He said smiling.
A barman came over and took our order.
'Two vanilla cookie crumble milkshakes please,' he said proudly.
'Yep. Comin' right up.'
Addison turned to me.
'They are like the best thing that's happened to mankind.'
I laughed.
'Don't laugh, I'm serious.'
I sighed, still giggling.
There was a small silence.
'So, Zar. Do you do anything in your spare time? Like me doing basketball?'
'Uh... Reading books?' I flinched at my clinginess.
'And?'
'Writing books?' My voice cracked.
He laughed 'Unique.'
'Writing books is unique?' I rolled my eyes.
'Uh duh. Most people don't have the imagination or inspiration to write shit. Sorry, you cuss too, right?'
'Fuck yeah' I said.
Addison burst out laughing.
'You always make me laugh Archambeault,'
'Not really intentional.' I mumbled
'That's what I admire about you.'
The barman came over with one milkshake, looking disappointed.
'I'm sorry but our blender has broken. I only managed to get 1 milkshake. I'm so sorry.'
'Hey man, no problem. We'll drink one,' he turned to me 'Right?'
'Yeah, that's fine' I said
'Okay, enjoy.' The man said with a smile and placed it in front of us.
Addison picked up two straws and plopped them into the shake.
'Enjoy' he smirked, placing his fingertips on the straw. I did so too.
'Enjoy' I whispered.
We both took a sip. My cheek brushed softly against his. I went a little red. I then stopped.
'Holy shit' the milkshake swirled in my mouth, trickling down my throat.
'I know.' He nodded, sipping.
'It's so good.' I took another sip.
'I know!' He giggled
My face was inches from his. I looked at his green eyes, closely. Studying their amazing shades of the colour green. Different shades. Light green. Dark green. They're so beautiful.
We finished the milkshake quickly. It was too good to not sip. I sat back in my seat and sighed.
'Amazing.'
'Yup.'
Addison asked for the receipt and insisted he'd pay.
'Addison...,' I sighed 'Thank you.'
'Ah, it's just a milkshake. No worries.'

After, we took a stroll around the park. It was a beautiful day. It was quiet and warm.

Me and Addison hung out more and more for the past 2 weeks. We talked about the stupidest shit. I don't think I've ever really laughed so much in my life. He makes me giggle all the time.
I don't know his age. I should ask him.
