A Lot of Time Has Passed

The trees were covered in white. So were the grounds around me, the roads, bird's nests and mountains. My scarf coiled around my neck like a snake, trapping the air in to keep me warm. My coat was tightly zipped up, over my belly, where it was like I was wearing a basketball under my top. I was a whale. Literally. 5 months into this pregnancy and I think I'm going crazy. Mood swings, laziness, throwing up, cramps... The list goes on. I plodded through the thick deep snow, on the way back to the apartment. My boots left snow tracks on the doormat as I wiped them down. I stood inside the room and saw Addison.

'Hey. You're back from your walk.' he smiled

'Yep,' I uncoiled my scarf and hung it behind the door 'What've you been up to?' I asked, taking my coat, boots and gloves off.

'Painting. Not very interesting.'

'Cool.' I giggled shutting the door and walking to the kitchen to get a snack.

Whatever your thinking: No, Addison and I are not back together.

'What are you going to do later?' I yawned, grabbing bread from the breadbin.

'Might go see Julia.'

Julia is Addison's girlfriend. They've started dating about 2 months ago. She's quite sweet. Well, she hates me because I'm the one carrying Addison's baby. I wouldn't blame her to be honest. She doesn't know my age. We're trying to keep that a secret for now. She has a feathered haircut with brown hair and always seems to wear black clothing with a choker necklace.

'Oh cool, have fun.' I mumbled. I'm not jealous... at all... Well maybe I am a little bit but of course, I am. I'm still in love with this guy. Why wouldn't I be? We didn't break up because he did something terrible.

'I think actually,' he started 'I'm going to go now.'  he picked up his coat and walked towards me. 'Bye' he smiled, kissing me on the cheek. I felt his hand touch my stomach.

'Bye.' I waved, wondering if I got butterflies or just the baby kicking.
