Failed Savior
Rohan
Nagsipalakpakan ang mga tao nang umakyat si Ronnie sa stage. Nakausap ko siya kanina dahil ipinakilala siya ng assistant ko. Siya kasi ang guest ngayon para sa party namin dahil nga last day na ng team building. I was talking with some of my employees when my eyes caught someone. Nandito ako sa gilid at naro'n siya sa gitna kung saan nagkumpulan ang ilang empleyado.
Simpleng pink dress lang below the knee ang suot nito and She just curled her hair. She looked gorgeous in what ever she wears. I have to admit, the simple look fits her.
Napailing ako. Why am I heating up?
I didn't want to disturb her because she's drawn to Ronnie's words. I think I should just let her alone for now.
Pero habang tinititigan ko siya, lalo kong narerealize kung gaano siya kaganda. Iyong ganda niya, likas naman at kahit walang makapal na make up ay maganda pa rin siya.
We've been having sex lately, I guess I missed that part that she's still an adorable woman with a good heart.
But this fluttering I feel in my heart isn't supposed to be here. I mean, we have boundaries. What we have is just temporary and eventually she'll have to leave by my side to find what is meant for her.
I couldn't possible be that man.
Isa pa, I feel sorry for not telling her about Nyssa.
Kapag nalaman niya ang tungkol sa amin, hindi ko alam kung ano ang magiging reaksyon niya.
"Rohan," it was Rowin, he handed me another glass of wine.
"I found out about Nyssa," he said. Hindi na ako nagtaka, hindi naman kasi malabong malaman din ito ni Rowin.
"Don't tell it to Reys. I'm trying to fix it," inilapag niya ang baso niya sa mesa at tumingin nang seryoso sa akin
"Why are you keeping her? And why are you dating Nyssa?" Natahimik ako sa sinabi ni Rowin.
"I'm not dating Nyssa," I hissed. "And what about Reys?" muling tanong niya.
I drank my wine and dodged Rowin's stares at me. Hindi ko rin kasi nasabi kay Rohan ang tungkol sa amin ni Re
"Maybe you're aware that Reys was a bar girl. Nyssa knows it. Gusto ng daddy niyang i-kasal kami but I turned down. It seems that Nyssa is persistent about it so she threatened me with it."
"Then let go of Reys," malamig na saad nito. Hindi ko alam kung ano'ng meron sa kanya. But I feel like there is something that Rowin is not telling me.
"Just, stop making her suffer."
"What is it, Rowin? You can tell it to me," I eagerly said.
"Remember the case I took ten years ago? Sa bar na madalas nating puntahan? I didn't go there as regular for no reason. Bukod sa illegal na pagbebenta ng droga may prostitution ding nangyayari sa mga menor de edad na babae ro'n. Apparently, Reys is one of those girls I should've saved..." napasinghap siya't nilagok ang alak sa baso.
I remember Reys telling me she's raped, but I didn't know she's related to Rowin's work before. Sunod-sunod na napahinga nang malalim si Rowin. Siguro ito ang bumabagabag sa isip niya kanina pa.
Ilang sandali ko pang tinignan si Rowin ay biglang may alaalang dumalaw sa isip ko...
"I am about to call you," ibinaba nito ang cellphone nang makita ako ni Rowin na kapapasok lamang dito sa VIP Room. Pinaunlakan ko ang pag-aya niyang uminom sa akin
"Nakita kita kaya sumunod na lang ako," sabi naman ko habang papalapit siya sa akin.
"Madalas ka ba rito?" Tanong ko naman sa kanya nang makaupo ako sa couch.
"Yup. I am working on an investigation, that's why I am always here," inilapag nito ang folder sa mesa. Pinasadahan ko lang ito nang tingin, It's not like I am interested anyway. "There is an illegal selling of drugs here," he said.
"Drugs like what?" napatanong naman ako habang nagbubukas ng beer.
"They are in the form of pills, parang party pill," tugon nito habang problemadong nakatitig sa folder.
"What does it do?" nilahad ko ang beer na nabuksan ko sa kanya at tinanggap naman niya ito.
"First you will have a blurry vision then the victim says they don't remember much what happened when they woke up," ipinaliwanag ko naman sa kanya
"Maraming rape case rito, but we have not arrested the suspects since they have strong alibis like forgetting what happened."
"Your job is troublesome," komento ko naman at uminom sa beer na hawak ko.
"...and by the way, brother I'm gonna have to ask you a favor."
"Sure."
"It's Mia's birthday tomorrow. She is on a mission right now. Bukas pa siya makakauwi. I am planning to throw a party for her. Naisip ko lang ano ba 'yong mga gusto ni Mia? You might know well more than me?"
It's been a year ever since they are together with Mia. Still, I haven't accepted it. May galit pa rin ako kay Rowin. I hate him for stealing the only woman I loved.
"Well, Mia loves sweets and she's a simple girl. You just have to be there for her," napangiti naman ito at hinawakan ang balikat ko, "Thanks, bro."
Rowin believes I'm cool about them but I haven't give up on Mia yet. I'm still figuring out how to get her back.
