I gaped at him.

"W-what do you mean there's nobody in here? There was just somebody--"

"Clara, when I got up here, the door was open and I could see you. You were standing there, alone." Harry looked me in the eyes sternly, trying to get me to believe him. I couldn't, though. I felt somebody put their hand on my shoulder. It...it could've been Lucas. That made sense in my head.

"I've checked everywhere." He said, releasing me from his hold to take a step back and look at me. "Are you sure you weren't.....well," he scratched the back of his neck. "Hallucinating?"

I wanted to scream.

"Hallucinating?" I yelled, taking a step toward him. "Hallucinating!? You think I'm crazy, don't you?!"

He looked downright flabbergasted. He shoved his hands into his pockets, eyes wide as he took a step back from me.

"No, Clara, of course not.." He tried to reassure me, but I wouldn't have it. The way he said it made me feel like he was stomping me into the ground. I wasn't going to have another boy in my life that was a jerk.

I could tell by the way that he fidgeted that he was lying.

"You...you.." I pulled at my hair desperately. "I know you're lying. Why would you even say that?" I looked up at him, my mind in a daze. My fear was already dissolved, replaced by anger.

"Clara, please, listen to me. I didn't know I would make you upset--" he started, trying to grab a hold of my wrist but I pulled back like he was acid. I usually wanted him to hold me, but I was so angry at him at the moment that I didn't want to talk to him even. I had to focus on the fact that my mom's car was in the driveway but she wasn't home.

Harry's usually bright eyes were a dull shine now as I pushed past him to go downstairs.

"I have better things to do than be fooled by boys." I muttered to myself as I ran down the stairs.

The backyard, I thought. Maybe I should check there.

I heard Harry stumbling down the stairs, shouting my name as I ran out my back door. I looked over the expanse of my backward, containing a gazebo and a garden of different sizes and shapes of flowers.

I remembered the flower patch at school that Harry used to take me to.

No, I thought, that's over.

Once I looked over the entire area to find that it was empty, I stepped back in my house to run straight into Harry's chest.

"Clara!" He exclaimed, trying to wrap his arms around my waist to keep me in place.

"Not now, Harry!" I shouted, and he let me go immediately at my tone. I wanted to smirk but I held it back as I thought of the only place that she could be.

And as if on Que., I heard a noise come from below my feet, where my basement was.

Immediately my veins filled with dread.
