Red Leader x Soldier In Training! Reader

Okay Idefk for this title, no you two aren't related.

"No, aim there, not THERE!"

I grumbled in annoyance, aiming my gun a little higher. My trainer, Darryl, was being a criticizing ass. AGAIN. We were doing shooting practice right now, and even if I shot the target right dead in the center, he STILL found something wrong. It was getting on my nerves, but I had to keep my cool. After all, Red Leader has assigned me to be Darryl's 'apprentice', and he was expecting nothing less from me than what Darryl was. So, I regathered myself, and kept shooting, dealing with his harsh words.

We did this for two hours a day, from 10:00 to 11:00 and then later from 2:00 to 3:00. It was currently 2:58, and Darryl saw this on his hand watch. "Y/N." he called in his low voice, getting my attention. I stopped shooting and looked over at him. "Yes, sir?" I asked. He walked over to me and showed me his watch. "That's enough for today. Hand me the gun." he stated. I nodded and handed him the gun, and then waited to be dismissed to my room.

"Alright, Y/N, you are dismissed. But, before you go, I must inform you that Red Leader wants to see you in his office. Go see him before you go back to your room." he explained to me. My eyes widened in surprise, and I nodded in understanding. "Yes, sir. Will do." He nodded and walked past me, heading inside again. "Good."

I ignored his cold behavior. My thoughts were racing. Red Leader wanted to see ME? What for? Did I do something wrong? GASP did Darryl get fed up with me? That scarred-up scumbag! Grr.

Well, no matter what it is, I better go see Red Leader. I don't want to anger him anymore than I probably already have...I walked back into the base, heading for Red Leader's office.

It took a few minutes to get there, mainly because I got a little lost and had to backtrack. But, I did manage to find it. It honestly wasn't that hard to find once I saw it. The shiny red carvings on his door made it hard to miss.

I walked into his office, gulping in nervousness. The room was just as big and ominous as last time. Red leader was sitting at his desk in his big swival chair, focusing on something he was reading on his desk. I quietly shut the door after walking in, stopping about ten feet away from his desk. "Um, Red Leader, sir." I said, saluting. He looked up at me and flinched in surprise. He looked as if he had forgotten that he was expecting someone. Quickly getting a stack of papers and setting them on top of whatever it was that he was reading and then folding his arms on top of them, he looked at me and smiled. "Ah, Y/N. I was expecting you. Thank you for coming." he said smoothly, and...actually pretty friendly. His kind tone confused me. "Of course, Sir." I said, staying formal, even though I had quite a few questions. He chuckled a little. "Drop the sir for now, it's just us. Call me Tord. I kind of miss being called by my name." he said casually. I must say, I was quite shook by now. Not only was the Red Leader being kind to me, but he had also told me, a TRAINEE, his real name. I don't even think that Darryl knows his name, and he's a high-rank soldier.

"Uh...okay...Tord." I said awkwardly. He seemed quite amused by my awkwardness and chuckled yet again. "So, Y/N. Are you aware of why I called you here today?" he asked me. I shook my head no, folding my arms behind my back. He leaned back in his seat, still looking at me.

"I called you here to tell you something, Y/N. You have been doing great with your training. You're actually just as good as the other soldiers. So, I've decided...your training is ending." he told me, folding his arms and smiling.

I grinned. "Really? So I won't have to have Darryl following me around anymore?" I asked, excited. He laughed a little. "Correct. You'll have much more of your own time now." Then, he grew a bit of a smirk. "And, that means one more thing..." he said, a little softer.

I cocked my head to the side, confused. "What's that?" I asked. He shut his eyes and chuckled again. "Well, now that you are a full-on soldier, you no longer are considered 'too young' for the other soldiers...or me." he stated, opening his eyes again and looking at me. I blushed a little as I realized what he meant. "O-oh. Right." I said simply. Then, I shook my head. "Well, I don't think I'll be bothering with that anytime soon." I didn't really ever think about falling in love when I joined the army. I just dreamt of the thrill of battle.

Tord raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Why is that?" he asked me. I felt a bit uncomfortable, but the look on his face told me he wanted an answer. "Er, well...I, uhh, don't want a relationship to get into the way of battle. It would...make me weaker."

He looked quite amused now, and he leaned in again, chuckling some. "Oh, Y/N...that's not true." he told me. I was confused. "Huh?"

He stood up, now, and walked over to near me, his arms behind his back. "Y/N, my dear, lovers don't make each other weaker. They strengthen each other. They make each other feel more special, and give meaning to each other." he told me, walking in circles around me.

I was blushing a little, just at his being near me. Curse his charming demeanor. I shook off my feelings, though. "I...see..." I said quietly, watching him. He looked at me for a moment as he walked, and then stopped in front of me, sighing.

"Y/N, you don't understand what I'm trying to get at, do you." he asked me, confusing me. He was getting at something? "Uh...no. No, I don't." I said. He looked down at the floor for a moment, before looking up at me again. "Alright...Y/N, keep an open mind as I tell you this. Um..." he trailed off, scratching the back of his head. "Look. I, uh, have been keeping an eye on you. You caught my interest the moment I saw you. So I watched your training sessions, and heard some of your conversations."

He stopped for a moment before talking again. "And...after focusing on you for a while, I came to realize something. And that's that I...I have a stonger interest in you than I had originally thought. But this one is...different."

He hesitated again, this time longer. His cheeks were tinted red, and he was looking at the ground again. But, after squeezing his eyes shut and then opening them again, he looked at me.

"What I'm saying here, is that....Y/N, I...I love you."

The second he said that, I felt my cheeks burn. My eyes widened, and I tensed a little. The great Red Leader, the one feared by thousands, the one who's killed hundreds, the one that almost all of the female soldiers drool over...loves me. His newest soldier. I didn't even know what to say. "O-oh..." I said simply. And then I inwardly punched myself.

Tord honestly looked quite upset now. "You don't feel the same, do you." he asked me. I perked up, waving my hands. "Nono, that's not what it is! I'm just...shocked..." I quickly said. Hope sparked in him as I said that, and he looked at me with a little smile. "So you DO feel the same?" he asked me. I nodded a little. "I-I...I can't say I don't..." I said with a stutter.

His smile instantly widened, and he hugged me close. I tensed up again, and let out a squeak. "Thank you..." he mumbled. I simply nodded. Then, he pulled back, and saw my tenseness. His joyful expression turned into a look of concern. "Y/N, are you alright...?" he asked me. I quickly nodded. "Y-yeah! I'm just...not used to people acting like this towards me." I said. His expression turned into a smile again as he chuckled a little and put a hand on my shoulder.

"I understand, Y/N. I know how you feel. And for that reason, I will take this slow. Don't worry, though, my dear..." he trailed off, pulling me closer to him again, hugging me once more. This time, I smiled, and sort of hugged back. I may not be used to things like this, but I must admit, it did feel nice. I think...I could get used to this.

"...I will make you happy."

And I don't doubt that.

Christ, Y/N, why did I make you so dense in this oneshot? If any geniuses read this, I apologize.
