"Derek who's gone?", I ask worriedly.

"We should probably go inside, Ill tell you everything then," Derek says sadly.

I walk into the house and make two cups of hot chocolate before sitting next to Derek on the old couch that was already inside the house.

"Sam, she broke up with me," Derek says as he look at me with unshed tears in his eyes. I instantly hug him.

"Derek, Im so so sorry," I say as I rub his back.

"Yea me too, its just hard you know. It just being us. I feel lonely, she was the only one that helped with that. She doesn't want to be together anymore because we live to far away," Derek says as he breaks the hug.

"Why don't you ask her to move in with us?", I ask confused as to why he hasn't done so yet.

"What, are you crazy? You need me, I cant just ask her to move in with us. You need me, we moved here for a change Cass," he looks at me sadly.

"Derek, I hate change, but this had to happen. And I'm fine," I say as I smile at him.

"How can you be fine? You had one day at school, one day isn't going to show that you are fine," He says.

"I lost it today, I got angry," I say sadly. Derek grabs my hands and looks at my palms before looking sad again. "But I didn't do anything. Sure I yelled, but I was fine. And we forgave each other. I didn't do it again, Derek," I smile at him.

"Really? Cass Im so happy! Are you sure I can ask her to move in?", he asks cheerfully.

"Yes ask her! And Derek you talk to me like I have a mental problem. It was once, once that I got too angry. Now you all think that Ill do it again. But I wont. I was going through a lot back then, but I'm fine now," I cry.

Derek smiles at me, "I know you are, I'm proud of you. You are doing great for someone who lost their best friend, for someone's who parents gave up on her and her brother. Just remember they might have given up on us, but we will never give up on each other," he says whilst we cry.

Im fine. Im really fine.

"Its okay to cry. Sometimes it all gets a little too much," Derek says before hugging me.

I smile, "Now go Derek! Go call your girl, go get em!", I giggle.

Derek jumps up before running to the phone whilst horribly singing, " And if I may just take your breath away, I don't mind if there's not much to say, sometimes the silence guides our minds to, so move to a place so far away.... hello Samantha, its Derek."

I take that as a cue to leave before running upstairs to my room. I lift my mattress and take the book that I left under there. I start to write,

Dear Luke, I miss you.
