Chapter 18

The weekend goes by pretty uneventful. All I did was do some homework, work out and eat. But one thing is on my mind. It's pretty obvious. I thought about what Cameron said and I understand.

Its early Monday morning and I'm sitting on my bed in a towel just staring at a wall. Im snapped out of my thoughts when my phone buzzes next to me.

I pick up my phone and look at the message. It's a text from Jess saying "Hey I'm picking you up, be ready in 10." I haven't talked to anyone since Friday because I just wanted some time by myself.

I lazily stand up shuffling my feet to my closet looking around for a outfit. I take out some comfortable black leggings, a white long sleeved shirt with a maroon jumper over it. I grab my bag and slowly shuffle down the stairs. I walk in the kitchen and see Derek and Sam cuddling in-front of the stove.

"Morning," Sam chirps. Derek smiles down at her lovingly before looking up at me, "You ready to go?"

I haven't seen him this happy in a long time. This brings a smile on my face. "Nope Jess is picking me up," I reply.

"Why are you so happy?", Derek asks glaring at me suspiciously. I laugh as I put on my white converse sneakers.

" I don't know, everything seems to be looking up. We've had a tough year and everything is going well for once. Its just ordinary, I know, I know. I'm freaking out over the tiniest stuff, but its making me incredibly happy," by the time I've finished my tiny rant Sam and Derek have given me a joined hug. Sam starts laughing, "Cass you are going to make me cry."

I hear a beep outside so I break the hug and grab my bag. "Let's all go for dinner at a nice diner tonight. Like a little family," Derek says.

I laugh at his sappiness whilst I walk out the door. Before I close the door I yell "Won't miss it for the world!"

I walk towards Jess' car with a huge smile. As soon as I sit down I say, "Tell. Me. Everything."

"First off, why are you so happy. Does it have something to do with Cameron?", Jess says raising her brows.

"Haha what, no. I'm just having a good day. Now come on tell me what happened!"

"So the first 10 minutes was just us yelling at each other and then we made up," Jess says monotonous.

I look at her suspiciously "That's it?"

Jess starts squealing, "No we're officially dating!"

"Aw Jess I'm so happy for you guys!"

Before I know it we get to school. As soon as we climb out the car Josh has already engulfed Jess in a hug.

I walk on to my locker deciding to leave the couple to myself. I get out my books when I hear someone beside me sigh. I look to my right and see Shawn. "Good morning, how was your weekend?" I smile widely at him.

"Wait what. You're not mad?", Shawn asks bewildered.

"No silly why would I be mad?", I reply deciding that im not going to let this weekend ruin my great mood.

"Do you remember anything from this weekend? I mean obviously you don't ", Shawn says suspiciously.

I just nod deciding to go with it. "Good, I think. So now that is off my shoulders. Wanna go out this weekend? You know as friends."
