After a few hours we get to a camping ground. We check in with the front desk and they give us directions to our square.

Shawn parks the car and we get out. "So what do you want to do?", he asks like its not the most obvious thing in the world.

"We set up the tent!", this has always been one of my favourite parts of camping.

Shawn chuckles as he gestures me over to the back of his car. He hands me some lights, a hammer and the tent nails as he grabs the tent.

It takes us about 20 minutes figuring out how to build the tent. "I hope you don't mind, there is only one tent," Shawn says.

"Oh yea, why would I mind?", I ask confused.

"I don't know, a lot of girls are uncomfortable with, you know," he sighs.

"Sharing a tent or bed?", I chuckle. Shawn just nods silently.

"No my best friend and I always used to go camping together. He used to love it, I think that's why I like it so much," I smile fondly at the memory.

Shawn looks at me sadly, "Do you love him? You don't have to answer that, sorry for being nosy," he says as he uses the a pump to blow up air matresses.

"Yea of course I did, I do. He was like a brother to me. He meant the world to me," looking up at Shawn sadly. I start packing the blankets in the tent.

"Was?", Shawn asks confused.

That's when it hit me, I was talking about Luke, to a guy I hardly knew without breaking down. And I'm okay with, talking about it.

"I'll talk to you about it when we sit down. It's a long story," I reply. Shawn just nods in agreement.

Shawn puts the two air mattresses in the tent as I put in the blankets. We get out the tent, closing it deciding to start the campfire as it is already dark and very cold.

We sit around the fire as Shawn get started on roasting some meat.

"I thought we were having stew?", I ask confused.

Shawn laughs nervously, "Oh haha, no I decided not to."

"Oh okay. I just want to say thanks, Shawn. You are making this huge effort just to get to know your friends friend, and that is very kind," I say genuinely thankful.

"That's not the only reason Cass, I really like you, and," Shawn says. I accidentally cut him off, "I really like you to, I think we will be great friends."

"Yea great friends," Shawn says as he clears his throat, "So do you want to continue our conversation from before?"
