Chapter 25

Jacob's POV

1 hour later....

Ari left an hour ago. Cam, Carter, Taylor, and Daniel left just now and i'm bored. It was 8:39 (pm) and I realized my parents would be coming home soon. I cleaned the kitchen and made food knowing they'd want some. Around 9:30 they walked through the door. I went to my room and let them eat but ended up falling asleep. 

The Next Day...

I walked out and saw Case and Ari as usual. Case was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants. Ari was wearing dark grey joggers, white tennis shoes, a white tank top, with a black jacket. On the way to school I noticed that Ari wasn't really talking much and her breathing seemed a little heavy. All I did was look at her every now and then to see if she was okay. It didn't seem all that bad just a little off. I guess Case noticed it too because he looked at her too. When we got to the school I put everything in my locker and shut it. I looked over real quick and noticed Ari slumped with her head low. I walked over and sat in front of her. I could hear her wheezing and saw her shoulders moving up and down. I could tell by the way she was wheezing it was an asthma attack. I panicked a little inside. I shook her knees a little.

Jacob: Ari. Ari!

She didn't look up. I thought back to what the doctor told me to do when I have an asthma attack or how to help someone else during one. I moved the hair that was covering her face and checked her lips. They were a little blue. Shit. That means it's really bad. I sat  her up a little. 

Jacob: Ari! Hey! Listen can you tell me your ABC's?

She started to choke them out but only got to D. (lol no pun intended)

Jacob: Do you know where your inhaler is?

She pulled out her phone and pulled up Case's contact pretty much saying Case has it. Her hands started to shake and I freaked. Mario noticed us and came running over. People were starting to stare.

Mario: What happened?

Jacob: Asthma

He sat next to me and that's when I remembered I had mine and my spacer in my locker.

Jacob: Stay with her I'll be back!

I got up and ran to my locker unlocking it. I pulled it out and shut my locker. I ran back while putting it together. I tossed it to Mario and he started helping her. More and more people started starting and sort of crowding around but from a distance. I saw Case coming down the hall laughing with Adien. I called him over and he looked at me with confusion. Him and Adien ran over and I told them she was having an asthma attack. Adien ran away to go get a teacher. Case sat her up a lot more and pushed her knees down. He lifted her shirt just a little and mumbled "fuck". He looked at Mario and I could see the panic in their eyes. 

Jacob: What?

Case: When she breaths you can see her ribs. If that happens it's really bad. 

Adien came rushing back with our math teacher Mrs. Berlin. She tried to talk to Ari but she was wheezing to much to get anything out. Mrs. Berlin quickly pulled out her phone and dialed 911. That's when I completely lost it inside. The four of us backed away and let Mrs. Berlin help. We all panicked. 

Adien: Do you think she'll be okay?

Mario: She'll be fine

Case: Ari will fight don't worry

Jacob: How can I not worry?

Case: Y-

Mrs. Berlin: Case!

Case looked at them and Mrs. Berlin waved him over. They started talking. 

Case's POV

Mrs. Berlin: An ambulance will be here soon. 

Mrs. Berlin started telling people to leave and go to class early but not everybody listened. 

Mrs. Berlin: The principle is coming and he's gonna go to the hospital with you guys. He's gonna sit up front and your gonna sit in the back okay?

I nodded my head while swallowing hard. Our principle Mr. Sackett came down and stood by us. I could hear the sirens tot he ambulance outside. Seconds later paramedics came rushing in with a stretcher. I could see a tear fall from Mrs. Berlin's eyes. She walked away. One of the paramedics asked me a few questions about her as two others put her on the stretcher. They asked me questions like what her name was and how old she was then asked me others like my name and who I was to her. We all walked out and I got really worried. Mr. Sackett hopped in the front and they started putting Ari in the back. They told me to get in so I did. I sat in the corner of the ambulance. They started putting a mask over her face and tried getting her to breathe properly. She kept wheezing really bad and her hands were shaking. They tried to get her to speak but she couldn't. All she could get out was she couldn't breathe. 

Paramedic: I'm gonna need you to stay with us okay?

She nodded her head barely but it was noticeable. 

Paramedic: She's not breathing. 

I covered my face with the inside of my hoodie and cried. I couldn't watch. I can't loose Ari. She's my twin sister. My only sister. All of a sudden I heard coughing and wheezing again. Thank god. 

Paramedic: Alright just keep breathing

After what felt like forever we finally arrived at the hospital.
