Chapter 34

Jacob's POV

After the movie was over I had to go back home. I ate with my parents. 

Mom: So, how was your day?

Jacob: Good, yours?

Mom: Fine

Dad: Great

Mom: So how's Ariel?

I looked at her a little weird. 

Jacob: Fine....?

Mom: What about her parents? 

I furrowed my eyebrows still giving her the same weird look. 

Jacob: No idea....

Mom: Well that's a little rude

Jacob: How....?

Mom: You don't keep up with your girlfriend's life, that's what

I coughed a little. 

Jacob: Girlfriend?

I looked at my parents. My Dad had an annoyed look on his face and my Mom looked kinda happy. 

Mom:Yeah girlfriend 

I sighed and put my fork down. Time to tell them about me and Ari. 

Jacob: Ariel and I are just friends

My Mom nodded her head. 

Jacob: But....

Mom: But...?

Jacob: I do have a girlfriend 

Mom: Really?

Jacob: Yeah.....

Mom: How long?

Jacob: Almost two months

Mom: Who is it?

Jacob: Ari

Mom: HA!!

She turned to my Dad and held her hand out. He pulled $5 and placed it in her hand. I raised an eyebrow while my Dad rolled his eyes. 

Jacob: You guys bet on my relationship with Ari? 

Mom: Your father said you were either dating Ariel or you like her and I said no. I told him you clearly liked Ari a lot or you were dating her. So, we bet $5 

I shook my head and laughed a little for like, no reason. I took a bite of my food. 

Jacob: What do you think of her?

Mom: Well, she is beautiful. Very nice and very smart. I honestly really like her

I smiled. 

Dad: Didn't she date that Joey kid? If she did then she can't be bad news. Probably dates a lot of guys

My heart sank a little and my Mom kicked him under the table. 

Jacob: Joey cheated her. And she didn't date me until a few weeks after the breakup because she was hurt. AND I asked her. So, she's not like that

Dad: My mistake I guess

He mumbled hardly audible. 

Mom: You should invite her for dinner sometime

My smile returned. 

Jacob: I can ask 

Mom: Next week? 

Jacob: Sounds great

I finished dinner and but my dishes in the sink. I washed all of them and went to my room to mess around on my phone. I started getting a FaceTime call from Case. I answered it.
