Chapter 9

Jacob's POV

I read the text.

Convo

Case: Lol who are you looking at?

Jacob: What are you talking about?

Case: I can see you staring. So, who is it?

Jacob: Who do you think it is?

Case: Idk. Megan?

Jacob: Sure... We'll go with that

Case: Is it Lexie?

Jacob: Nope.

Case: Wait is it Ari?

Jacob: Maybe...

Case: HAHAHAHHA DUDE!! BEST THING I HEARD TODAY

Jacob: Whats so funny? No disrespect but shes hot af

Case: That's disgusting. My sister is not hot at all.

Jacob: Your only saying that cause your her brother

Case: I'm saying it cuz its the truth.

Jacob: I think a lot of guys can disagree

Case: Uh-huh

Jacob: I caught like 2 other guys staring at her too

Case: Who?

Jacob: Bryce and James

Case: Ew wtf

Jacob: Can't blame em though

Case: I don't understand why you just don't ask her out.

Jacob: Bc she doesn't like me like that duh

Case: It seems like she does

Jacob: Yeah SEEMS

After math we went to lunch. 

Skips to the end of the day...

We all went back to my house and did homework. After that we decided to go live and mess around cause we were bored. We played truth or dare for a while then they went home. 

The Next Day....

I walked out of my house and saw Case and Ari. Case was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. I laughed to myself because we were wearing the same thing. Ari was wearing a dark red shirt with a pocket, ripped jeans, and white converse. We walked to school and I went to my locker then a girl named Jessica walked up to me. She was in a few of my classes. 

Jessica: Hi Jacob!

Jacob: Whats up?

Jessica: Well, I was about to go to gym and I was wondering if you would like to walk with me.

Jacob: Um, sure. We gotta wait for Case though.

Jessica: Oh. Okay.

Case walked up to us and we walked away

Ari: Jacob!

I turned around.

Ari: Here catch!

She tossed something to me. It was a pack of gum

Jacob: Wow thanks. 

Ari nodded her head and Case winked at me. Jessica rolled her eyes then gave Ari like a death stare or something. We went to gym. We had to run laps again. This time Case and I made it a competition on who could get first place out of the class. He won by like an inch. We were ahead of the whole class. 

Case: You should try for track or something.

Jacob: Eh I think i'm going for basketball 

Case: Oh if your doing that Ari is definitely the person to practice with. She denies shes any good and refuses to play but still kicks everybody's ass.

I laughed.  After gym we met up with Ari in choir again. She was talking to a guy named Carter. I guess Case could tell I was starting to get jealous cause he told me not to worry about it because he has a girlfriend. That helped. We took our seats. 

Skips to lunch.....

We sat down at our usual table but for some reason Jessica sat with us. 

Ari: Hi Jessica!

Jessica shrugged her off and looked at me.

Jessica: So, Jacob how is your day going?

Jacob: Fine.

She paused. I'm assuming she wanted me to ask about hers but I didn't care only because of the way shes treating Ari. 

Jessica: Mine is going pretty good too.

She smiled and laughed quietly.

Jacob: Cool...

Case covered his mouth from the side and mouthed to Ari  "Is she high or somethin?" Ari shrugged and I laughed a little. Then Jessica giggled.

Jessica: I like your laugh.

Jacob: Um...thanks? Oh Ari did you still wanna get food after school?

I knew we were still going for food but I only mentioned it to get Jessica to back off a little.

Ari: Yeah. Your house for homework right?

Jacob: Yep

Jessica: Oh that's right, I've been meaning to ask you would you wanna see a movie on Friday? I heard that new Baby Driver movie is pretty good.

Jacob: Sorry but i'm already going to see that with them.

Jessica: Okay.

After lunch we went to our lockers and got our stuff. I saw that for some reason I had blacked out shades in my locker. I looked over at Ari and decided to scare her. I put them on and started walking towards her when of course Jessica tapped on my shoulder.

Jessica: H-

I turned around and put a finger up to my lips. I went over to Ari and quietly sat my stuff down. Then I went behind her and picked her up by the waist. She screamed a little when I put my back against the locker next to hers. She started laughing when she realized who it was. I laughed at the fact that she got scared. Then she took my glasses. 

Ari: Wow. Where'd you get these?

Jacob: The mall, I think...

She handed them back to me. I saw Jessica still standing a little ways away looking pissed. I let go of Ari and she started getting her stuff.

Jacob: God your slow. 

Ari: Well then go to class.

Jacob: No. I'm waiting for you.

She laughed.

Ari: Don't complain then.

When she was done I shut her locker for her and grabbed my stuff from the floor then we went to class.
