Genevieve~

She felt herself floating around in the air, like she weighed nothing. Genevieve opened her eyes and saw herself in a cold white room. She searched for a door to get out, but they were bare, no windows, no doors. Nothing at all. She looked down and recognised her homecoming dress but it was stained with blood. She tried to recall what had happened to her but her mind throbbed just to think about it. Genevieve leaned against a wall. Where was Jeff? She wondered frantically. Damn it. Where the hell am I?!!! Genevieve was frustrated, was this some cruel joke?

“Let me out!!! Hello?! FREAKING LET ME OUT YOU IDIOTS!” Genevieve banged against the walls till her knuckles were red. She winced in pain and started kicking the wall, her flats dirtied the walls for a few second before the blackness disappeared and the wall was good as new again. Just then she noticed a mirror appeared out of nowhere. What is this damn place? It’s so freaking creepy. She wondered. Genevieve slowly advanced towards the mirror, curiosity burned inside her. “This is so weird.” She said as she stood in front of the mirror, she turned around and noticed that there was a bullet lodged near her spine, straining the corners of the dress.

“What?” She muttered to herself as she tried to get the bullet out of her. She looked around the white walls for something that she could use to remove it. A dressing table magically floated and appeared in front of her. “Wow. Thanks whoever you are.” She thanked, feeling impressed. Then, she rushed to the table and started rummaging for a pair of something she could use. Then she found a pair of scissors among the pile of tread and floss and sharp needles. She opened the scissors and stood in front of the mirror, her back facing her reflection. Genevieve braced herself for the pain and then cut open the wound. She bit her tongue so hard till she tasted blood in her mouth.

“Damn it.” The scissors felt around for the bullet, while Genevieve felt the agonizing pain, each second was worse than the previous. Finally, she screamed as a small metal bullet fell onto the ground, blood dripped onto the ground as Genevieve’s knees gave in and fell flat onto the ground, withering in pain. “Ouch…” She gritted her teeth. The bullet laid on the floor while the blood slowly disappeared, changing into the white floor that it used to be. It was as if the ground absorbed the blood. “I just… want to… go home!” Genevieve cried as tears of pain streaked down her cheeks. Unknowingly, she grabbed the bullet and the shells, it was shiny as if it wasn’t used before and all the blood that was once on it had disappeared.

“I told you they would come after you.” A voice gently reprimanded her. Genevieve spun around and she staggered backwards. Why the hell was this woman in the same room as her?! “Who?” Genevieve echoed. Her head ached as she tried recall what Ms C was talking about. “The other people who wanted the extract of the liquid you have pumping through your veins.” Ms C replied, pointing at Genevieve. Genevieve frowned, her memories were still blurry.

“I don’t know!” Genevieve screamed angrily. Ms C laughed and patted Genevieve’s head, “Welcome to heaven, or should I say the middle world, the entrance that connects heaven, hell and earth.” Ms C said. “I don’t know how you ended up here but oh well.” She smiled. Genevieve shook her head disbelievingly. Heaven?!!! She was dead?

“Yes you are dead,” Ms C answered for her, “Now get up.” She helped Genevieve up. Her knees were still weak and blood still dripped excessively on the ground. Genevieve felt a wave of emotions wash over her. Sadness, grief, anger, pain, frustration. She couldn’t believe she was dead! Damn. “I want to go home!” Genevieve sobbed, tears of grief rolled down her cheeks. If she stayed, she couldn’t see Jeff, Ron, Veronica or her newly found parents ever again. Ms C sighed and opened Genevieve’s palm.

“This is your key to your fate.” Ms C told her. Genevieve was amazed when she saw the bullet turn into a key. With a wave of Ms C’s hand, two doors appeared, one shut tightly, the other opened widely. The shut one was black and there was a black aura around it. The other one opened to rainbows and clouds.

“Two doors, two choices. One takes you home and the other takes you to hell.” Ms C said and she comfortingly placed an arm around the tear stricken Genevieve. “It’s a choice. It’s a dare. The key in your palm will open the dark door. The already opened one will give you easy entrance. Choose wisely. And keep walking no matter what. If you give up, heaven will collect you back into this room.” She explained. Genevieve was still slightly puzzled.

“Ms C. Were you trying to help me all along?” Genevieve asked. Ms C paused for a moment before nodding. “You already planned to kill yourself, you purposely faked being the bad guy so you can protect me from all the bad guys’ right?” Ms C nodded without hesitation this time.

“I saw too much torture to see another child being tortured again, all I did was undone my mother’s deeds. I knew about Ron too, he was part of my plan. He was supposed to release you. I purposely tortured Veronica so she would create a rebel group against me. However, I expected you to think I was the bad guy for the rest of your life. Well, when you were still alive, that is.” Ms C replied, her tone was slightly sad.

“Thank you for whatever you have done for me.” Genevieve smiled and stepped forward, making her choice. She decided that the black door was more inviting then the colourful one. Before she opened the door, she turned to Ms C. “Bye! See you in your next life!” Genevieve waved gratefully. Ms C smiled happily at her, and she turned around and disappeared into bubbles. Genevieve turned the doorknob and opened the door. Everything she saw was rotting plants, yet she confidently walked in and then clutched the sapphire necklace Jeff gave her.

“I will see you soon Jeff.” Genevieve smiled and walked through the next door filled with garbage and incinerators. “Maybe.” Genevieve added sadly and kept on walking.
