Jeff~

The beeping of the heart monitors and the occasional shuffling were the only sounds in the room. Doctors and nurses walked in and out to check on Genevieve while he rested his head on the bed, quietly grieving for Genevieve.

Would he have chosen to meet her in the first place if he knew this horrid ending? Maybe not. Jeff responded to the voice in his head.

“It’s fate.” He breathed, as a pang of guilt it him full force in the chest at that realisation that he caused all this troubles. If he did not do so many things, fate would not have punished him and Genevieve by doing all this shit back at him.

But if he hadn’t found Genevieve, he would not have found love, or even have known so many things. She had added more colour in his life, no matter how much he disagreed on the fact that he regretted causing her so much pain, going through all this troubles. He would not change anything or anyone for Genevieve, or the memories that they shared for other things. Even on your life? His mind suddenly questioned his heart. Jeff nodded his head. The agony of Genevieve dying was tearing him apart, killing him slowly. However, the hope of her awakening kept him from falling into nothing but a wrecked mess. Jeff would rather be lying in a coma on the hospital bed then watching Genevieve lie motionlessly instead.

“It’s hurts more as well.” He muttered to himself. Perhaps Genevieve would be dancing in heaven with unicorns and rainbows, or talking with angels about how she set fire to the colour pencils, not to forget the picnic that Jeff surprised her with. He laughed silently at that, although each memories brought a new level of sadness to him. It was as if a knife stabbed him multiple times in the heart, yet he could not die, he could only feel the pain and suffer in silence.

Then, the hospital door creaked open and in came Veronica and Ron. They exchanged curt nods and stood at the bed side watching Genevieve. “She really looks like she is sleeping.” Veronica said, “Except I cannot drag her out of bed and ask her to snap out of it.” She laughed dryly. Jeff tried to make a sad smile while Ron sniffled.

“I could have never thought I would miss how she made fun of me and my teddy bear.” He admitted sheepishly. Jeff snorted and continued staring at Genevieve. All his memories came back at once, the day she helped him hide at the office building, her hazel eyes, the day they splashed around at her house, the party, her birthday and the confession.

“It’s okay bro.” Ron comforted Jeff with a pat on the back, “She is too young to die, and she will survive this ordeal no matter the odds. Just then, Jeff noticed some movement caused by Genevieve’s finger.

“She is moving! Holy shit! Call the doctor!” Veronica ordered as Ron dashed out of the room at her command. Jeff held her hand tightly as her eyelids twitched and her big brown eyes stared into his. Jeff never felt so happy and relieved in his life. He hugged her dearly and a big goofy smile was plastered on her face.

“Genevieve! You are alive!” Jeff exclaimed gleefully with Veronica beside him nodding like there was no tomorrow. Genevieve frowned.

“I am not Genevieve, my name is Jennifer Springfield. Hi Veronica.” Then, she turned to Jeff. “Who the hell are you? Where is Jeffery?”

The smile on Jeff’s face disappeared and was replaced with a frown. The doctor dashed into the ward along with a few nurses who chased them out.

After an hour of waiting, the doctor came out and then turned to the trio. “Congrats, a miracle has happened. However, most of her memories are forgotten or hidden at the back of her mind. It is most unfortunate that she might not regain her memory soon.” He said and Jeff snapped. He ran from the wards, out of the hospital and to his home. He rummaged through his things for a box. Then he ran back to the hospital, his heart hammering in his chest. As he dashed through the white walls of the hospital, his vision blurred with the box safely tucked under his arm. As he reached Genevieve’s room, he laid motionless on the floor, panting as sweat rolled down his head.

“Jeff?!” Ron shouted as he shook him roughly. “Bro, you okay?” He questioned. Veronica stood beside Genevieve, looking nervously at Jeff. After several minutes, he stood up weakly with the box in his hands. He walked slowly to Genevieve, his eyes focused on her brown curious ones.

“Get well soon, Genevieve.” Jeff smiled and trudged outside. It was over, two months ago he would be overjoyed that Jenny was back. However, with Genevieve gone, his heart ached even more. He knew he was whipped, but Genevieve and Jennifer were two different people. His heart could only hold one of them, however Genevieve forgot him, and Jennifer’s Jeff was not him. Over the years, he changed, Genevieve changed him into a better person.

“Jeff?” She asked, making him stop in his tracks.

“Yea Jennifer?” He asked, unwilling to turn to face her.

“What? Who is that?” She replied with a hint of jealously in her tone. Jeff turned around in surprise. “Gen?” He breathed.

“Hey Jeff, I just made a decision to return from heaven, go through Hell and fly back to Earth.” Genevieve smiled as Jeff rushed up to hug her. Veronica and Ron were frowning slightly.

“Where did Jennifer go?” They all wondered. Genevieve laughed as she clutched the sapphire necklace which was dangling from her neck. “I am slightly confused, can you guys just settle down and start explaining?” She laughed.

Jeff felt a piece of him returning, happiness bubbled inside him. He was glad Genevieve was back. And this time, he would protect her with all him might.

Hi!

Happy ending much? I know some people hate me for chapter 36, 37 and the front of 38. Be happy ok, they got back together (unless you dislike them together). Twisted is ending and there will be only 1 chapter and an epilouge left. Afterwards I am starting a new story (edited), however if you know me, I write the first 10 chapters beforehand, then post the story. *Calculates* I have nearly spent half a year on Twisted, thank you people for supporting me the whole way along with my awful grammar. ^^

Thank you!

L.S.

PS: This is a very long A/N sorry
