3 years later

Holding this little bundle of joy in my arms brings the biggest smile to my face and the warmest feeling over my body. I've never seen such a beautiful little girl in my life.

She has such smooth skin and a small tuft of brown hair on the top of her tiny head. The only noise she makes is tiny snores. I already know I'd do anything for this angel as tears of joy threaten to break free.

Realising I'm hogging their new daughter, I give her back to Chris and Greg. The two new fathers look beyond happy at their adopted daughter.

Sadly her parents died during a rogue attack in a pack a few states over. We were aiding there fight but sadly they had already lost a a fair few pack members before we arrived. Among them were the packs Betas and many strong warriors.

It turned out that these rogues had gotten hold of hunter weapons. They were stealthy going in and sadly, training was happening when the first shots were fired. It's not the first time we encountered sold hunter weapons either.

So Chris offered to adopt their child, ensuring she was still raised a Beta as well as having loving parents. They have a chest with things owned by her parents for when shes older, so she can see photos and know their scent.

"Are you ok baby?" Derek quietly asks while wrapping his arms around me protectively.

"Yeah, I'm alright. I'm really happy for them." I reply genuinely.

Sure It's hard to watch people start their families but I've still been keeping my head high. I spend time at the orphanage every day. I check on every child there and help where I can. Sure It's hard when they're adopted to other packs but the parents always send me updates.

I also watch some of the pack pups during morning training, we have fun baking or crafting together. Though over the last few years I've found out they cook better than I do.

Seeing these two looking lovingly at their newest family member, I can see she is going to have a good life. I can't believe my long time friend is actually a father now.

We bid them goodbye before heading back home. Walking hand in hand, we go to the pack house so Derek can do some work and I can bake with some pack kids.

Going our seperate ways, I'm feeling beyond happy and excited. Today we are baking cakes, which is one thing I do well. As I enter the kitchen, I see five pack kids around 10 years old waiting.

"Hey everyone! How are we all today?" I greet while having a big smile on my face.

"Good, Luna." They all reply together.

"Ok, let's make something yummy today, huh?" While looking at them all.

"What are we making, Luna?" Asks Mark, one of the warriors sons.

"Chocolate cake. Because I think we need a break from meal food." I say happily. Generally we cook things they can do at home too.

They all look happy and excited at the idea of the chocolate goodness. I instruct everyone on the ingredients they'll need before showing them how much to mix together.

After some cheeky food fight between the kids, we finally have all the cakes in the oven. While they cook, we mix up our icing and add the coloring we might want to use.

When the cakes are finished we take them out and leave them to cool. Deciding to enjoy some fresh air, we go play or relax outside for half an hour.

Once the cakes are cooled, we enjoy decorating them. The kids have fun with all the different colored icing. By the end of it we have some funky looking cakes but big smiles on their faces.
