Ten

"I am the shining daughter then"

Or maybe I spoke too soon, because the moment I stepped my foot outside Bench's corvette, it seems like the gravity fell inlove with my jaw.

"You said you were taking me to a diner." I said through my gritted teeth.

"I did?" He asked innocently. Oh, God.

"Didn't I just said it? I can bet my life on it, Bench. You said you were taking me to a fucking diner but here I am, standing in front of a stinky bar called 'Limelight'." He chuckled.

Limelight is one of the most famous bars in Cyrea. Lahat ng mga kilalang artista ay dito tumatambay lalo na ang mga nagliliwaliw at nagpapawala ng stress. Honestly, first time kong makapunta dito. Hate na hate ko talaga ang maiingay at kulob na lugar. I mean, bakit ba gustong-gusto ng ibang tao ang makipagsiksikan sa madilim at masikip na lugar na 'yan? Not to mention na ang baho-baho dahil nangangamoy alak at usok sa loob. Yuck.

"I never said I was going to take you to a 'diner'." He said as he quoted 'diner' using his fingers. "I said, I was going to treat you a dinner. For someone so smart like you, you can't even tell the difference. I'm so disappointed." He said while shaking his head. I clenched my fist and he quickly saw it.

"Now we don't want to attract attention, do we?" He said and pointed his lips to the blond woman approaching us.

Yep, definitely a Barbie.

Amanda Charles. I immediately recognized her as she walked towards us. She has this tall slender body with matching blue tantalizing eyes and straight blond hair. She is the exact definition of Barbie itself. She is in her late twenties but you won't think she is unless you asked her yourself. Man, she never gets old.

"Look who we have here." She said as she beamed her straight white teeth and wave her hand. "Hi, Bench!"

"Amanda, I never thought you hangout in this place." Bench said as he returned her hug. Seriously guys, get a room. "I need some refreshments once in awhile, Bench. Stress is not helping me. I think I'm really getting old."

You're old. I said to myself.

"I see you have a company." Amanda said when she noticed me. And now you noticed me.

"Oh, yeah. She's kind of exotic so don't get on her bad side." I pinched Bench side and gave him a What-the-fuck look before smiling sheepishly at Amanda.

She returned my smile and muttered, 'I saw that.' before rolling her eyes and smiled at Bench.

Did I mention that she also exhibits this interesting personality called 'plasticity'? Yep, Barbie it is.

"Oh, look how time flies!" She said as she looked at her phone. Which reminded me that I need to get one for myself. "I need to go, guys. I have some appointment with my derma." She said and kissed Bench on the cheek and went straight to her car.

Bench look at me weirdly and I shrugged.

We headed straight to the VIP booths of Limelight.

"Since you're so eager to have your dinner, then we'll have it here." He said and motioned the waiter to take our orders.

This is why I hate this kind of place so damn much. It is so loud, I can barely hear what this toad mistaken as a human being was saying. I groaned loudly.

"Naaamuse talaga ako sa mga taste mo, Bench." Sinabi ko habang pinagmamasdan ko siyang uminom.

Now that I think of it, naiwan ko nga pala ang sasakyan ko sa parking slot ng FH. I rubbed my aching temples.
