'So Hae-Soo just jumped you.' Jongin was laughing, again, having repeated this for the 100th time that night.
'YES' I practically screamed at him through my beer haze.
He fell about laughing again as if it was the first time he had heard it.
I groaned and put my head in my hands. 'Why's my life such a mess.'
He patted my back while slowly stopping himself from laughing. 'It's not a mess' he shook my comment off.
'Of course, it is.' I snapped back at him, still with my head in my hands.
'How is it?' he asked, his tone had changed to completely serious.
I looked at him from the corner of my eye and shook my head unwilling, or unable to answer.
'Come on Taemin, how is it a mess. Because from where I am sat it is not.' He frowned as if to say that was that.
'Ok' I thought hard and licked my lips. 'My girlfriend is basically unsafe with me. I've lost fans, and they want to kill her, I work all the time, and while I absolutely love it, it means I am also neglecting my relationship and meanwhile Chanyeol thinks it's fine to hit on my girlfriend and hang out with her all the time. Oh, while I've got crazy co-workers throwing themselves at me.' I moaned.
Jongin shook his head and laughed lightly. 'You think too much.'
I raised my eyes at him.
'Taemin, your girlfriend absolutely loves you. She does not feel unsafe with you, accidents happen, she only broke her arm, not her back, and while skiing, hardly drama. You're an idol, so sometimes crazy fans will want to kill your partner, but they won't because let's face it they just won't. She also understands you love what you do and while at the moment you're busy she doesn't complain about it. And as for Chanyeol, he does feel bad, but he won't do the same thing again, I trust that he won't. You're looking at it all wrong. You have a girl who LOVES you completely and wants nothing from you, you've lost fans, which means you have fans, which means your successful, and not only successful but successful at something you love. And you've got people literally jumping you, which means you must be attractive. You need to chill out.'
He finished his speech and I stared at him almost in disbelief. He was right, but he was rarely so concise. Especially after however many beers we had.
I groaned loudly. He took it to mean I understood and knew he was right, but didn't want to admit it. He knew me too well.
'You've got a better life than me right now.' He added quietly.
I looked back up at him not understanding. I didn't need to ask for him to explain.
'Krystal and I are going to split up I think.' He said looking down at his drink.
'Why?' I asked. They had been together almost a year, I didn't understand they always looked so happy.
'A lot of things, schedules for one, but mostly, it just doesn't feel the same as it did. I don't think about her all the time like I used to, I can go days without thinking about her, and then she gets real mad at me, and I just don't think she's the one. You shouldn't not be thinking about the person you love right.'
I thought about what he was saying. He was right. And even though I wanted to be sympathetic and be a good friend, I couldn't help but think about my own situation. No matter how busy I was in the day, even if I forgot to send Jen a message, or call her, I was still thinking about her. I still wanted to go home and see her, even if she was asleep. I wanted to know she was there.
'I'm sorry' I told him lamely and rubbed his shoulder.
'It's ok, I haven't really told anyone about it yet. She gets mad at me, but I'm sure she isn't into it as much as she was either. It is what it is.'
Not long after this conversation we decided to leave the bar and go back home. It was 1am, and as soon as I got outside, and the air hit me, my drunkenness increased about a thousand percent.
Jongin said goodbye to me at my dorm door, I made my way in noisily, though I was trying my best to be quiet.
I made my way clumsily to the bedroom. Jen was already in bed, fast asleep. I threw off my clothes and climbed into bed next to her wrapping my arm across her back and pulling her closely into my chest. She stirred just a bit.
'Taemin?' she questioned.
'I'm here baby, I'm not going anywhere.' I slurred kissing her forehead.
