So the 12 weeks gone by slow but for others fast...... Yes I indeed just skipped my entire training because all we did is get up really early in the morning, then we went for a run, then another run, then we ate food, more running, then training, more running, and ate food, and at night we had some fun... not really....... it was a routine every day and I bet you guys don't even want to hear about it. So right now me, Meat, Dash, Sean, Elliot, and Jack are all lined up in our formal blues, ready to become real marines. My whole family is here, which caused me to become super nervous. We got in the lines we were supposed to and I looked and saw my family and some of my friends.
After all the speeches and seeing our families which made my whole day just seeing their faces again made me cry.
We had to go back and get our stuff. While we grabbed our stuff I turned to the guys and said: "Yo guys, hold up one second." They nodded and said "Yeah?" I said, "Guys I just want to say it was a pleasure to know you, I know we had some rough parts but we got through them, I also hope that we get all deployed in the same area." I gave my buddies my information and I continued "Hit me up when you get the call." We all smiled and laughed and had a group hug. My family was next to Meats' parents so we said our byes to Dash, Sean, Elliot, and Jack. We got to where our families were and my mom was the first one to hug me, then my dad, then Kevin, and then Matt. Chris was even there. Meat's family ended up on the same bus to go to the airport. Meat and I sat together talking about what we liked or hated about that camp. Some parts of that camp were dreadful, for example, the workouts they give us to do, man oh man they are dreadful. Some men couldn't do it and quit and while others were trying too hard. For me, I was the one who just did as I was told I never commented back or anything.
Now Meat and I are parting ways. Thinking about being deployed together, made me hope to get deployed with my roommates in camp, but I can't always wish for that now can I?
I am on the plane and in the middle of Matt and Kevin. They are both sleeping like babies, but I am here just gazing around, yeah I know sounds weird but whatever. I looked behind me at my parents who were also sleeping, but how come I can't. You want to know why? Well because I am nervous about the call. Sometimes they don't call, that means you didn't pass the boot camp. I hope I got in.
We finally got to my home town where I was born and raised, where I find all my so-called friends.
I know for the start being home should be joyful but deep down I am bored. I put away my stuff and sat on my bed. My bed where I can sleep all night and sleep all day. But that is not going to stop me from running early in the morning. But I wish it did.
I heard a knock and dad entered my room. He sat next to me and said "Son how was boot camp?"
I was too tired, said, "I will tell you all about it tomorrow." He laughed and ruffled up my hair and said "Good night"
The next day in the morning after I told my family about boot camp. My dad said "Wow son I'm very proud of you." I smiled and said "Thanks dad" My brothers asked me questions and I answered, they seemed to have a load of questions for me and I tried my best to answer all of them.
I went upstairs and took a shower and got dressed. Then I went back downstairs where Kevin was pulling me to the car. I said "Kev let go of me!" Kevin smiled and said "There is someone I want you to meet." I had this "O" expression on my face.
When we got to this random house I just stood there while Kevin was already at the doorstep. Then this really beautiful woman came out and I watched as he hugged and kissed her. They were a couple, obviously. My brother said "This is my brother Drake." She came up to me and shook my hand and said: "Nice to meet you, Drake, your brother has been talking about you a lot." I laughed which Kevin pushed me. I said "Well, nice to meet ...... you too?" she laughed said, "My name is Kristen." I said "Nice meeting you Kristen." She said "You too."
