The Marine

Mission 2 continued

   So we headed out into the town....my group were the only ones with the cameras.... we were probably halfway to the entrance of the town; James noticed that the cameraman was still with us...

James: "Hey camera man what the hell are you doing here?!?!?"

Cam man: "Oh I am guessing your captain has forgotten  to tell you that my supervisor didn't like the idea and wanted me to come so I have to be here."

The camera was still facing in my direction and I asked: "Hey is this live?"

Cam man: "Yes sir it is... a lot of people are watching."

I grumbled and I looked at him and said: "Listen carefully if you are recording me I need you to follow our directions closely.....And you better listen... we don't need you getting hurt or worse killed..."

Cam man swallowed nervously but nodded understanding what I am saying to him. What he asked next made me want to punch him in the face, Cam man said: "Hey can we stop so we can introduce everyone?"

Instead of me replying a guy named Connor said: "Listen we have no time to be speaking to a stupid camera we have a mission to go on and we are attempting to get set ourselves to protect your ass along with each other... so no we don't have time to do that..."

Cam man: "But I have too....part of my job..."

I said: "Who are you trying to get to be on tv?"

Cam man said: "You"

   I grunted and put my hand over my face... I was stressed so I said as I forget that there are multiple people back home listening: "Listen, we don't have the time to talk about me... I have a harder time knowing you're coming along... Which means I have more pressure on my hands....."

Cam man: "More pressure?"

    I stared at him and replied: "Look I have to make sure these guys come out in one piece; now that you're here, A man with no military training, entering a firefight I have a ton of stress since I have to make sure your not hurt or killed because that wouldn't be idle so please just stop asking and listen to the leader here....we can do this later..not now..."

Cam man muttered: "Ok..."

I looked at Connor and nodded for him to continue and he did. It took us 15 minutes to get to the entrance. As we got to it we hid behind the wall... The acting leader then began to discuss our plans for the attack. 

.....Middle of the battle.....

   So right now our squad is sustained in a house...I was annoyed but I can't do anything since I am not the leader...  We are right now thinking of escaping but their ideas are terrible.......James came to me and sat next to me and said: "You alright?"

I looked at him and nodded.. I looked at the cam man and his camera was still on me...

I said: "This freakin cameraman is pissing me off though..."

James laughed and was like: "I agree....." 

I put my head in my hands... James patted my back and said: "We will be able to get through this man..." I looked at him and said: :Man...look you're leader can't even formulate new idle plans...his ideas are not doing any of us good..... I mean look where we are." James agreed.. I got up and checked if I saw anything.. I didn't...

I turned to face the others and said "Listen, Since it looks like we aren't doing anything which is a fucking horrible strategy, and since our enemies are probably moving in on us at this very fucking second, I'm going to take one for the team and go out there to see if I can see a path that is clear enough for us to escape..."
