The Marine

Another Patrol Went Wrong.

     After that patrol nothing has happened to us yet even to this day... this week flew by fast..while thinking about all those 2 weeks that nothing happened made us suspicious and nervous.... we don't know what is going to happen to us today or next week or someday......right now we were in our tents and talking about life and our family home.....

    Dash came in after he came back from the bathroom and told us "Guys the Army is here but not near us, so when we go patrolling we might see them." We all groaned I don't know why but Marines and the Army have a little rivalry between us. I don't know what happened but I don't care. 

   Our captain walked in and told us to get ready. We got ready and were walking down to the town. 

   We got to the town and our captain told us to split up, so I went with Elliot. We chose the middle street, so we began our walk. Nothing suspicious has happened until we saw the Army. "Aye Elliot, check out the Army down there, they are in our patrolling time like what the fuck" Elliot rolled his eyes and yelled out "HEY ARMY!" They all turned around and stared at us, Elliot continued "CONTINUE ON YOUR PATROL! WE CAN"T HAVE THIS MANY MEN PATROLLING THIS PART OF TOWN!" They didn't argue back but listened.

    They passed this alley when a kid with a gun was ready to fire at them. I yelled, "PUT DOWN YOUR GUN KID OR I WILL SHOOT!" The kid turned and saw me and ran back where he came from. I mumbled and said, "Elliot stay I got this ok?" Elliot said, "Drake man I have a bad feeling about this."

    I said, "I know me too but I got to do it ok." I ran after the kid and was calling after him "Kid stop..." I stopped my sentence short because I saw a guy holding an RPG and pointing right at me. I quickly turned and sprinted away and was screaming "ELLIOT GET BACK!! GET THE FUCK BACK HE HAS AN RPG!!!" I kept running until I heard him click the trigger. Then I dove to the side but while I was falling I felt pain in my back. 

    Elliot was covering behind a building when he saw me he went running to me but I stopped him. I said, "They are coming out now." I was holding my gun to them and firing at them as best as I can. Elliot was doing the same, and the army guys came and joined. Elliot I already knew asked for reinforcements because I saw Meat, Dash, Jack, Chris, and captain coming. 

    It took a while to finish them all off and I was losing a lot of blood I was trying to stop it but it was hard. I heard my team coming to me to help, but I grew dizzy and soon fainted with the lack of blood. 

1 week later

     I woke up with this huge pain in my back. Doctors came in to help and I realized what happened. I looked around and saw other men sitting in the beds or laying down in them. This one guy next to me was starring at me and I was like "What the hell are you looking at?"
The guy smirked and said, "Just wanted to see if you were ok, you have a mighty scar on your back." I said "I'm ok and awesome! Battle wound!" The guy rolled his eyes and said: "You are a newbie to this ain't you?" I nodded and said this is my fourth week here." He made a gesture that made it look like it was cool. I closed my eyes but the guy said: "Your squad came in every day for you bro." I said "Really?" He said, "No duh, mine been doing that to me as well." I smiled and said, "We both have good squads don't we?" The guy said, "yea we sure do." 

     Just before I could get some rest, I saw meat come in. I looked at him and grinned. He smiled and said, "Look who's awake." I told him "Yeah I sure am!" The guy next to me was obviously listening in on our conversation. I saw Meat frown and said, "Drake why?" I looked at him and said, "Because if I didn't do it then they would have killed us, I saved us." He frowned even more and said, "I should of went with you, not Elliot I should of!" I looked at him and said, "Look these things don't come in routine, they come in surprises, I am fine I did what I had to do, even if I got injured during it." He looked down but he agreed. I yawned said, "Night Meat hopefully I will be back out there soon." I don't know what he said because I fell asleep.
