The Marine

Week 3 - FINAL!!

     It was indeed another Monday, but not like any other Monday this was the start of my last week. I was as nervous as hell. Not going to lie and all but I couldn't even sleep one blink last night, my nerves were on to me. 

    I laid in bed for a couple of seconds and was daydreaming about leaving for Bootcamp. But, I was interrupted as my door gets ripped open and there stood Matt and Kevin with huge smiles on their faces. I gulped since they looked suspicious and jumped out of bed and next to my window. Before I turned around and open the window, I said: "Guys you know this is not what you want to do, right." They were slowly creeping towards me. So I did what I was planning on doing in the first place, by turning around quickly towards the window; since my room was on the first floor I jumped out of the window and onto the grass, which luckily softened my fall. Suddenly,  Kevin and Matt's face appeared from my window and they were laughing. I guess they thought it was funny what I have done. Kevin said, "Yo Drake why did you...?" I was confused and said, "Weren't you guys going to attack me?" They laughed and said, "Nah we were trying to wake you up because mom wanted us to, I guess it worked."

     I glared at them and I raced to the window, but they closed it before I reached it. They pointed and laughed at me. Causing me to run around the house to the back door, since they will think I will be going to the front door which I was clever enough not to go to. I opened the door and closed it silently. I tiptoed toward where the front door was and saw both of them holding the door back. It was actually a funny sight. My parents were looking at them strangely and looked at me. I put my finger to my mouth and told them to be quiet and pretend I wasn't there. They rolled their eyes and nodded. I saw two water guns there, they obtained them to wake me up if I did not wake up before. I smiled an evil smile and took them and I got in a good position.

       I said, "Well look it here boys, look what I have in my hands, I suspect you can't open that door because you locked it aye?" They gulped but nodded. I made an evil laugh and said "Sorry boys but you deserve this for this morning." That's when I squirted them with water. They ran away but I followed. Mom then yelled at us "BOYS STOP RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE! AND DRAKE STOP SHOOTING OUT WATER IN THIS HOUSE!"  We all yelled a sorry out, apologizing to our mother.

    We were all soaked with water and lying on the ground of the playroom, where we play Xbox, play station, and the Wii. After all this time waiting for Kevin's response to my enlisting, he finally announced something to me. He sat right up and so did Matt and me. Kevin looked serious and looked at me and said "Drake I'm going to miss you like stupid, especially thinking about this day when you've gone off to boot camp. It's  going to be hard not knowing we can't go home and hang with you but we would have to wait until you call or write letters." I was going to reply but I saw Kevin's eyes, he looked like he was going to cry, I got up and hugged him and said: "Kevin, I will try my best every chance I get I will facetime with you, Matt, mom, and dad, I promise."

   Matt then joined on the hug and said: "We better find a good schedule for these awesome chats." I laughed and said, "I don't know about that, but I can try finding a time I'm not busy." They laughed but we were still hugging. Mom came into the room to tell us lunch was ready when she noticed us hugging. She saw that we were all crying, which made her cry. We laughed, my dad came up the stairs and said "What's wrong hun?" she said 'Well they were crying and it was contagious." Dad just laughed but hugged her. He turned around and looked at me and said "Son you ready? This is your last week home until your officially a marine in training." I grinned and said, "Yes I am ready."  We all went down to eat and I noticed that Daniel my dad's best friend from the marines was sitting there. I smiled and said, "Hey Daniel, what's up!"  He said, "Hey Drake I'm doing good, are you excited or what?" I laughed and said, "Yes sir I am." Throughout lunch we talked about the good times we had together and all the vacations we went on.     

    After lunch Matt, Kevin, and I  all went out to play football. while we were there I saw Chris with some his friends sitting on the side of the field talking and having fun. Matt nudged me and said "You know him?" I said, "Yea I  had to verse him in wrestling last year, which I won by the way." Matt laughed and said, "I GOT A GOOD PLAN!!" I said, "what is your plan?" At that point, Chris and his friends were looking at us and I said "Yo Matt stop yelling" Matt laughed and said, "Well mister Marine you are all by yourself against us." I  grinned and said, "Fine bring it on you little losers." 

   We set up and I realized this was not fair, I said: "Wait, guys, how the hell am I going to play?" They laughed and said "Suck it!" I rolled my eyes and started the game. I was unfortunately losing the game. I flopped down and laid on the ground and groaned. Matt and Kevin flopped down next to me laughing. I pushed them away and said, "did you guys play 1v 2? huh? that's what I thought..." They kept on laughing. I put my hands over my head and closed my eyes and I said: "Guys you see this position, I will take a picture of me doing this whenever I am deployed, to tell you guys I am good." They smiled. Chris came over and we talked about stuff and asked me to help him with some moves for wrestling. I agreed and said goodbye to him before I told him where and when to meet. We got home just in time for dinner and man it smelled delicious. I frowned. Matt said "Hey You ok?" I looked at him and said, "Yeah I am just going to miss the food." Matt then burst out laughing, I pushed him to make him shut up. We had our dinner and I was getting ready for bed when my mom came in and said "Honey I am proud of you and what you have done for yourself, I know you had a tough time making that decision and I want to tell you that I am proud of what you did." I smiled and hugged and kissed my mom on the head and said: "Thanks Ma, I won't be able to make it through without your support." She smiled we hugged for a while until she told me good night. 

Day 2

Well, all I did today was hang with my mom ....Also I started to teach Chris some few moves.

Day 3

Hung out with my dad, and my nerves are starting...Continued to show moves to Chris...he is a pretty good wrestler...

Day 4

Hung out with Matt, The nerves are growing bigger...I continued to show some more moves for Chris saying that tomorrow will be the last day of my training....

Day 5

Hung out with Kevin, and now they are developing into butterflies...Last session with Chris and we got stuff to eat....

Day 6

The Nerves officially became serious and I couldn't stand them, tomorrow was the last day home with my family. I did some packing for what I needed to bring. 

Last day

    I am super duper nervous and my family is getting nervous as well. They don't let me out of their sight because they need to capture every last minute they have with me. I finished with my packing and right now it's 8:30 at night.  Mom is bringing me somewhere I have no clue where, but I have to feel what it is. A surprise going away party for me, but I won't tell anyone, I don't want her upset that I knew already. When we entered the place the lights turned on and everyone jumped out yelling "SURPRISE!" I acted shocked but I laughed. Everyone would come up to me and say "Good luck son", "Keep your head up out there", "Make good friends" and "Good luck". I would only reply with a thank you to them. I did not know what else to say. The day finally came to the end, I said goodbye and my thank you to everyone who came. When we returned home I got my bags and placed them in the car, I couldn't believe tomorrow I start my training to become a marine. I smiled and I passed out in the same clothes I had earlier on. before I passed out I was thinking about what I will be doing there. I also thought how am I sleeping?

Authors note: The next chapter will have to do with boot camp for the marines and I have no clue what they do so please don't hate me if I am not correct..........thank for reading though haha :D

   OMG I AM RE EDITING THIS STORY AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT I HATE MYSELF FOR NOT CAPITALIZING I... LOL UGHHHHH xD
