The Marine

The Last Day!

We all woke up do to the sun. I groaned and pulled the covers over my head so I can get more sleep until I realized something, this was my last day home. I  jumped out of bed and saw everyone sleeping and I yelled: "WAKE UP LADS IT'S OUR LAST DAY IN AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!" They all groaned, which made me chuckle and I said, "I am going downstairs." I went downstairs and saw my family there I said: "Good morning everyone!!" They smiled and laughed. I sat next to them and said: "I am going to miss you all but I will be back before you know it!?"  Matt said "You sure are! Don't worry buddy we will miss you too!" I smiled and Kevin added, "We will make sure to turn your room into a workout room so when you get home you will have to sleep on the bench." Everyone laughed and I shoved Kevin off the chair. Meat came down and sat next to me and said "Good morning." Dash did the same, then came Elliot and then finally Jack. I said, "Wow Jack your always the last one to go to places." Jack glared and said "I know so shut up." he plumped down on his chair and I laughed. After breakfast, I took a quick shower and put something nice on. Everyone did the same, my mom said we were going somewhere I don't know where but is a surprise. 

We finally get to a restaurant, and we find the place where my mom set us up and all of a surprise everyone sitting at the table said "CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!" (i don't know what they would say for someone getting deployed so I don't know sorry) I smiled and hugged everyone, some people would say good luck, hope you make it home safe or keep your head up out there. There were people around us were starring at us like we were crazy. We all sat down and my dad stood up and clinked his glass. Everyone and I mean everyone went quiet. 

My dad then began to make the speech. "Drake, I am glad you are following in my footsteps to become a marine, and now you finally are because this is your last day home. Tomorrow you will be deployed and we won't be able to see you for a while. But I am glad and happy for you I know you will do great, and I hope you call or write letters telling us what you have been doing over there where ever you have been deployed to. I know Kevin and Matt are very proud of you but your mother and I are the proudest, we raised a son who wants to serve his country and even die for it as well. This is me saying good luck and hope for you to come home as soon as you can." he finished everyone in the room stood up and clapped, some even cheered. I saw my dad tearing up and I walked to him and hugged him. I said, "Thanks dad I will miss you and I promise to do everything I can to contact you, I love you and I will make it home just for you." My dad kissed my cheek. I walked back and this random guy went to me and shook my hand. He smiled and said, "Thanks for your service I know you are being on your first deployment but I just want to tell you thanks." I smiled and said "Your welcome." More people wanted their hands shook which I did and so did my friends who are being deployed with me. We finally sat down and ate our lunch.

We were sitting at the house and I stood up and said: "Kev and Matt, you know what we should do, we should go play football for the last time I have with you." Kev and Matt stood up and agreed and the rest of us went out and played, even my dad played. My mom was watching us play even cheering us on. Some random people came and sat by just to watch and they were even cheering.

Chris ran up and asked to join which we told him could. It was getting late so we decided to stop and we thanked everyone who stopped and watched... we all walked home and we all took another shower and I got dressed up in my blues. There was a marine dinner before we deploy. 

We got there and sat down and ate. Then I and my buddies went on the dance floors and danced to funny songs, and other marines would join us. let me tell you it was a very nice last day I had so much fun.

It was already 11;30 at night and we had to leave because we have to leave around 4 in the morning to catch the plane to take us to the other airport we get shipped off from. before bed, I hugged and kissed everyone. l laid down and couldn't sleep I was just thinking about what will happen while I was deployed. I was nervous, I looked around and saw everyone was asound asleep. So that made me go to sleep.

Authors Note; I know this may be short but I am in a rush and decided to keep typing but sorry if this is bad :( but I hope you enjoy my new story, I know I rushed into a new story but I had this idea in my head and said to myself why not hahaha. :)
