I was sound asleep until I felt someone shake me. I open my eyes and looked to see who it was. Of course, it was my father. He smiled and said, "Good morning son, you ready for your big day?" All of a sudden butterflies grew in my stomach but I said: "Yes sir I am." He smiled and said, "Get your things in the car we are leaving to the airport after breakfast." I nodded, I looked at my alarm clock it was 3:50 in the morning. I looked at my bag then the time came back to me, he woke me up at 4 in the morning, god damn, but wait I shouldn't complain I probably have to wake up earlier so it's a start.

For the boot camp, I have to travel through plane because there are no military bases around where I live. I know you are wondering where I live because I did not mention it in my introduction, but I live in this small town in Wisconsin called "Miller's village." Yes, I know weird name but that was the first governor we liked and we named the town it. No one outside of Wisconsin knows where this is, it's a laugh when tourists wind up here lost. But I like it, because its small and safe. I have to travel to South Carolina, in Paris Island, that is where the marines boot camp is. It lasts for 12 weeks. Hopefully, I can make it through.

Enough of that knowledge I have to focus on getting ready, I was told they give out the uniforms and other things on the first day of boot camp, so I don't have to worry. But I have to bring a lot of paperwork. I picked up my bag and carried it to the car where my mom was already sitting in. I looked confused about why she was sitting there when we are not leaving yet. I opened the trunk and put my stuff in and closed it. I walked to where my mom sat and said: "Hey ma you alright?"

She looked up at me and smiled and said: "Yes I am, I am putting the address in the GPS." Then she held the GPS in my face. I laughed and said, "Good you got me worried there for a second." She smiled and shoved me a little, and said: "Get breakfast so we can leave." I put on my fake sad face and said: "You want me gone so soon?" She laughed and said, "Yes, so you can get boot camp over with and come back home to me." I laughed and hugged her, my dad opened the door and yelled: "DRAKE GET YOUR ASS BACK IN HERE SO YOU CAN EAT!!" I rolled my eyes and walked back into the house. I sat in the kitchen and began eating.  Kevin and Matt were there eating as well. We didn't say anything just ate. Dad looked at his watch and said: "Time to go." I nodded and placed my plate near the sink, there was no time to wash it. I then walked out of my house but before I got into the car I turned around and just looked at my house for the last time. This was my last time at my house for the next 12 weeks. I will miss my house while I'm gone to boot camp. My dad said "Let's go! Stop crying about the house!!!" That remark made everyone laugh. I grumbled under my breath and got into the car and we are now heading to the airport.

3 hours later

We arrived at the airport I grabbed my bags from the trunk and entered the airport with my family. When we got into the place I had to purchase my ticket which dad helped me with. After I got my ticket and placed my bags onto the luggage belt where it takes our luggage to the plane so we don't have to carry all that luggage. I only had one carry on bag which held all important documents which I can not lose.

I had to go up the escalator so it was time to say goodbye. I gulped and I looked at everyone's face, they all seemed sad. I looked around there were a lot of people here at the airport actually. My mom ran to me and hugged me with all her might. I hugged back, I felt her crying and she was whispering "I am going to miss you soo much, but I'm going to pray for you every single night alright?" I laughed and said, "I will miss you too mom and thanks mom I love you." She smiled and let me go. Everyone was looking at us but I did not even pay attention, I was focusing on saying my goodbyes.

Next was Matt he hugged me tight and practically said the same thing as mom but instead of saying he will pray for me he told me to keep my head up. Kevin said the exact same thing.
