Clarke's point of view

I hop out of the rover, observing what was left of Polis.
The base of the late Polis tower still stood, however from the second floor and up was now collapsed, the remains scattered across the ground and ending in a giant heap on top of the base and the bunker. The old shops and houses that had lined the city were now nonexistent, leaving the area barren for miles around except for a few trees here and there.
Madi appeared by my side, voicing my concerns, "It looks the exact same as last time." She looked up at me, "They didn't make it out."
It had been four months since we had last returned here. We'd been coming on a regular basis, pretty much since we had hit the five year mark and the amount of radiation in the air was safe for people without nightblood. Once we had discovered that we couldn't even shift the rubble, we knew it would be impossible to dig them out unless the rubble shifted by itself and an opening that would give us a chance of digging through presented itself. Or, maybe they could figure a way out themselves. So, every few months we would come back, only to find that nothing or hardly anything had changed.
I sighed. Hoping that they could make it out on their own was a long shot.
That was a giant pile of rubble. It would take days, I knew.
Still, I had to be optimistic. For Madi.
"We've got help, and a plan," I placed my hand on her shoulder, giving it a little squeeze. "We'll get them out this time."

I push open the back, the large rope in my arms, and walk over to clarke and Madi.
"You ready?"
She looks over and nods.
Everyone walks over to us too.
"There's nothing left of it," emori says, breaking the silence.
She turns to echo who has tears starting to swell in her eyes.
"You okay echo?"
She looks up to emori and wipes the tears off her face, not letting them fall. "Yeah."
"Okay everyone. Monty I need you to back up the rover in front of that really big piece there," I say pointing to the large piece of rubble on the top. Monty nods and runs back to the rover, starting it and driving past us, over to the large pile. "Great! Now stay there," I yell to Monty. I wrap the rope around and under the rock, tying it in a tight knot.
"Okay monty! Give it allots got!"
Monty shoves onto the gas and I just behind the large piece, shoving forward as the rover slowly pulls it. Finally after a few minutes it falls with a large smash onto the ground, breaking into many more little pieces. Harper and raven go over picking the pieces up, throwing them to the side.
"Alright monty back up and lets do it again!"
Monty back sup slowly and we do the process once again.

Throughout the day, monty and me switched places pushing and pulling the rubble and the girls carried the smaller pieces away.
I jump outta the rover, slamming the door behind me.
"It is getting late," I sigh, wiping the swear off my four head. "It'll be dark in about an hour. We should start packing up."

"Right," I huff, having just tossed a good-sized piece away from the heap.
I turn to take in the pile, admiring the progress that we'd made. The pile was still quite large, but we'd put a good dent in it.
"Nice work guys! If we keep this up, we'll be seeing the others again in no time."
My words of praise rippled through the rest as they gave each other small congratulatory gestures.
"We need to set up camp since we're staying here for the week," I instructed.
Madi pointed towards a patch of trees a little ways off. "How about over there?"
I grinned at the young nightblood, "Good eye, Madi. We'll drive over there and see if we can find some firewood once we get there. Since we ran out of venison this morning, I'm going to have to go hunting again."

Bellamy's point of view

We all jump into the rover and drive over to the tree line where Madi pointed out would be a good place to set up camp. Once we stop, I get out observing it. The young girl really did have a good eye on picking places to stay.
Everyone goes there own way until it's just me and Madi.
As we sit down on the large log I brought over for sitting on Madi look over at me with a shy smile.
"What was space like?"
I look over surprised she ask. I'm surprised she even spoke to me. She only kept to herself and clarke from what I've seen.
"What was it like? Well... there's not a lot to do up there."
She nods looking back up. "We're you scared?"
"Well," I smile. "Yeah I was scared, I was scared I was not going to see my my sister ever again."
"And clarke," Madi grins.
"And clarke," I smile back.
"Hey you guys hungry? I'm about to go hunting!" I turn around to see clarke with her rifle gripped tightly in her hands.
