Bellamy's point of view

I close the hatch to the basement as I step down the ladder.
Clarke sighs as I place my hand on her waist.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm so scared of what Madi will chose bell," she frowns.
I nod, squeezing her hand.
"I know princess... but you gotta trust her."
She smiles slightly and brushes my bangs outta my face.
"I do..."
"Good," I smile, placing a kiss on her forehead.
She looks around the dark basement that is only lit from the one candle on the floor.
"I love you so much... you know that?" She smiles as she looks back over at me.
"I know," I smirk. "I love you too princess."
She giggles and sits down on the blanket spread on the floor.
"I'm tired," she yawns.
"Then go to sleep," I whisper, laying down beside her.
I loop my arm around her waist and pull her close to me for warmth.
She hummed with pleasure.
"Good night princess."
"Good night my prince."

Clarke's point of view

As Bellamy and I were walking towards the bunker door the next morning, we were almost plowed over while rounding a corner by a frantic Harper.
"There you guys are!" She exclaimed, out of breath. "What the hell have you two been doing all morning?" She narrowed her eyes at her own question before backtracking, "Actually, don't answer that."
Bellamy just snorted. I shot him a glare and looked back to Harper, quickly correcting her train of thought. "We were just sleeping," I answered, more hurriedly than I intended.
"The fact that you clarified that only makes it sound more suspicious, but that's besides the point. Octavia's sending us on a mission to Arkadia. We're running low on supplies here and she said that you told her Arkadia's still partially standing, so she's sending a group of us that used to know our way around Arkadia to find anything useful."
Bellamy and I shared a dubious glance before he asked, "Who's going?"
"Myself, Monty, Miller, and you two. We could only spare so many horses. Octavia put Miller in charge. Speaking of which, he's going to be pretty pissed if we aren't ready by the time we're supposed to leave." Harper turned around, starting to jog away towards the bunker door and calling back to us, "We meet out by the gate in ten!"
Bellamy and I sighed simultaneously before following after her.

After collecting our backpacks with very minimal rations (Bellamy promised that we would try our luck with hunting during the trip), I spotted a familiar head of dark, braided hair walking alongside a crowd of Wonkru noviciates being lead by Gaia, Indra's daughter.
I paused in our walk towards the gate, grabbing Bellamy's hand. He halted, giving me a questioning look.
"You go on ahead, I'll catch up. I just have to say goodbye to Madi," I told him, giving his hand a squeeze.
"Alright. Try not to be too long; you know how impatient Miller is."
I chuckled. "That sounds like someone else I know."
Bellamy humorously rolled his eyes, leaning in and giving me a quick kiss before continuing towards the gate.
I made my way towards the group of noviciates, catching up with Gaia.
Gaia smiled at me as I fell into step beside her. "Clarke, what can I do for you?"
I returned her polite tone. "May I steal Madi for a couple seconds? I'll make sure she catches up with the rest of the group."
"Of course, go ahead."
Madi had heard our conversation and was already reluctantly dropping away from the others. As soon as I joined her, she said dully, "I already know that you're leaving."
I smiled ruefully. "I see you're still mad."
"You lied to me. I'm not just going to forget about that overnight, Clarke."
I decided to drop the subject. "I just wanted to see you before I leave on a four-day trip."
"Well, you've seen me. I have to catch back up to the others, we have a training session right now," she snapped, starting to hurry away.
"Madi, stop!" I called after her in annoyance.
"Bye, Clarke! Tell Bellamy I said bye!" She called back, jogging away.
I let out a sigh, watching her go for a few more moments before turning around and continuing towards the gate.
As I approached the group at the gate, I caught sight of Bellamy staring dubiously at his assigned horse, obviously trying to figure out a way to get on. It hit me that he's never had any experience with a horse, and my mood immediately began to lighten at the thought of the comical scene that I was about to witness.

Bellamys point of view

I look up at the large black animal in front of me.
"ready?"
I turn around and look at Clarke.
She has a small smile plastered on her face.
"yeah."
She nods, "well... Get on. "
"Um... Okay."
I then toward the large horse.
"Okay, " I whisper to myself.
Then I place my foot on the leather strap.
Before continuing, I look back at Clarke who gets on in one sweeping motion.
"your turn," she smirks.
I take a deep breath and look back at the horse. Then I push up my body with my left foot, spreading my legs and placing my leg in the other side.
A smile spreads on my face but quickly fades as the horse jumps up on its back legs.
I grab the reins as tight as possible, but my hands slip. I slid off the and fall onto the rocky ground with a loud thump. Then the horse turns around and walks forward. I try to jump to my feet but quickly fall again, leaving to scoot backwards.
I hear a small giggle escape Clarke's mouth as fear flows through my spine.
"its okay bell, " she smiles as she jumps off her horse. "let me help."
I nod, standing up and wiping the dirt off my pants.
"put your foot here and push with it, bringing your other leg over. Then hold on and wait for me."
I nod and do ask Clarke says, my legs hanging off the sides of the horse as I sit and wait for Clarke.
Then she gets on and brings her horse up to mine.
"now grab the reins and lightly kick the horse in the side."
"what?"
"just do it."
I sigh and listen to Clarke, the horse moving slowly.
"good job bell!" she smiles.
"thanks, princess."
