It had been a couple hours since the last time Macho man visited us, using his fists to pummel us with temporary cuts and bruises. Derek and I had remained silence, our hope of Scott coming to save us, slowly dwindling by the second until we decided to howl. Successfully getting a howl back.
"Ready to have some more fun?" Macho said, coming back into the room with a metal bat. I internally cringe every time he hit the bat against his hand. "To be honest, my knuckles are kind of hurting. So I brought some help. But I need to warn ya. I used to play in college."
Just as the bat swung down to hit me, my eyes closed but the pain never came. "I brought a little help too." Derek breathed out as I opened my eyes and saw his hand gripping the bat before Scott punched him square in the face and knocking him out.
Scott came over and broke off my chains. I dropped down and wrapped my arms around him as tears fled my eyes. "I thought I'd never see you again." I confessed.
"I'm here, you're okay. We're gonna make it out of here." He promised, pulling away and wiping the traitorous tears. "Come on." He said, stepping in front of Derek.
"Scott, Hallie, help me with this." I went to step forward but Scott stopped me.
"No."
"What?" Derek and I blurted out at the same time.
"Not until you tell me how to stop Peter." He suggested.
"You really wanna talk about this right now?" Derek said directing our attention towards his hand cuffed hand. His hand he used to catch the nat still dangling by his side.
"He's going after Allison and her family. He's going to kill them."
"So what?" I gave Derek a look, to which he just ignored.
"So tell me how to stop him." Scott pestered.
"You can't! Alright? Now, I don't know when Kate's coming back, so just get me out of this right now! Get me out right now!" Derek ordered. I stepped forward once again but Scott held me back.
"Promise you'll help me."
"You want me to risk my life for your girlfriend? For your stupid little teenage crush that means absolutely nothing? You're not in love Scott. You're 16 years old. You're a child." My heart clenched at the words he was spitting out. Maybe he was right, I'm just a child.
"Maybe you're right. But I know something you don't. Peter said he didn't know what he was doing when he killed your sister, right? He lied. Remember this?" Scott said, holding up a creased paper with what looked like a picture with a deer and a shape of the vendetta sign on its side.
"Where did you get that?" He seethed, his chest rising up and down faster than before.
"My boss told me three months ago someone came into the clinic asking for a copy of this picture. Do you wanna know who it was? Peter's nurse." he said, "They brought your sister here so that Peter could kill her nad become the Alpha, and that's why you're going to help me." Scott spun around as Derek glared in anger at him. "Just say you'll help me, and I'll help you unlock your other,"
"I'll help you." Derek huffed, jumping down after breaking his cuff off from the anger pulsing through his mind.
"Hey. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Something doesn't feel right." Derek stated. I felt it too as if this was a whole trap.
"What do you mean?"
"It's, It's kind of like it's," I started, being cut off by Scott himself.
"No, don't say 'too easy.' People say 'too easy' and bad things happen." Scott stressed, silencing Derek and I. "What, do you think finding you guys was easy? Getting away from Allison's dad? None of this has been easy."
