"Oh, what the hell is this?" Noah Stilinski moaned as he bit into his burger.
"Veggie burger." Stiles answers as he digs into his salad.
"Stiles, I asked for a hamburger." I sit back and watch the show as I dig into my own salad.
"Well, veggie is healthier. We're being healthy." Noah turns towards me with a questioning look.
"Did he drag you into this?" He asked.
"Nope, I actually wanted a salad." I truthfully state.
"Oh, hell, why are you trying to ruin my life?" Sheriff groans.
"I'm trying to extend your life, okay? Could you just eat it, please?" Stiles begged before Noah gave a defeated sigh to get his son off his back. "And tell me what you found." He added.
"No, I'm not sharing confidential police work with two teenagers."
"Is that it on the board behind you?" Stiles and I both sit up and start glancing around the board to get enough information as we can. Noah soon blocks the way, but we continue to maneuver our way around.
"Don't look at that." Sheriff tries, but fails.
"Ay,"
"Avert your eyes." He tries again, earning a small laugh from.
"Okay. Stiles says about to sit down before springing back up and looking again.
"Hey!" Noah calls as Stiles starts to try and move towards the board.
"Just, it's just, I see arrows pointing at pictures."
"Okay, okay, stop. Fine. I found something." He gave in, earning curious looks from Stiles and I. "Mechanic and the couple who were murdered. They all had something in common."
"All three?" I ask, thinking back to Noah's original quote.
"Yeah. You know what I always say. One's an incident. Two's coincidence." I cut him off.
"Three's a pattern."
"The mechanic, the husband, the wife, all the same age. All 24." But Mr. Lahey wasn't 24, so why is he included in the murders.
"Wait, what about Mr. Lahey? I mean, Isaac's dad isn't anywhere near 24." Stiles asked, voicing my thoughts.
"Which made me think that either 'a,' Lahey's murder wasn't connected or 'b,'b the ages were a coincidence, until I found this, which would be 'c." Stilinski said, holding out a manila folder. Stiles took it and opened it up, allowing the two of us to read what was written. "Did you know Isaac Lahey had an older brother named Camden?"
"Died in combat?" I read off the big, stamped words.
"But if he were alive today, take one guess as to how old he'd be."
"24." Stiles and I answer in unison.
"Now what if same age means same class, I mean, did you think of that?" Stiles brought up, going into his detective mode.
"Yeah, yeah. Well, I would've. I mean, I, look, I just got Lahey's file two hours ago."
"Two hours? Dad, people could be dying."
"Yeah, I'm aware of that. Thank you." Sheriff replied with just as much sarcasm as Stiles.
"Same class." Stiles said, going over the folder in his hand. He then grabbed a stack of yearbooks and started to look through them.
"Okay, this is it. Class of 2006. They all went to Beacon Hills."
"Including Isaac's brother." I noted.
