"What are you doing to him? Is that gonna kill him?" Allison asked as Kate took the electric wand to Derek's bare chest.

"Stop!" I yelled, regretting it once she put it on me, causing me to groan in response. Only then did I realize that my shirt was gone. Allison had tears in her eyes now as she stared at me, not able to do anything for the both of us.

"Oh, come on, kiddo. Don't get all ethical on me now." Kate said, turning back towards her niece.

"What are they?" Her voice wavered, showing how scared she was to human senses. But to our senses, her heart gave it away.

"Shape-shifters. Lycans. Werewolves. To me they're just another dumb animal." Kate said, looking at Derek's protruding canines. "Come here. See these right here? These are canines, also known as fangs. Made for the tearing and rending of flesh. Not something you'd find on those cute little leaf-eating herbivores, is it?" She joked, jabbing her thumbs into Derek's mouth to show off his fangs.

"This is a joke to you?" Allison said, clearly not getting her aunt's state.

"Sweetheart," She spun around, "There are werewolves running around in the world. Everything's a joke to me. How else do you think I stay sane?"

"So, it was him at the high school and all the other animal attacks? Hallie was there with us. You knew that's why you weren't scared." She falsely accused as I shook my head with a sigh.

"No, he was almost killed that night before everything happened in the school." I stated, glancing over at Derek who was currently glaring at Kate. Kate walked over and zapped me longer than before, "Quiet." She hissed as I yelped in pain.

Sweat was beading down my forehead, along with my stomach when it flexed from the pain that shot through my body.

"There's actually four of them," Kate added. "Another younger one like them called a Beta, and then there's the Alpha. Alpha's the pack leader, bigger, stronger, nastier. Those, are the real ugly motherf -"

"Oh, God, not now." Allison groaned before walking out with Kate, having a conversation I didn't mind paying attention to, but I only worried about what would come next.

"I'm sorry." Derek muttered, looking over at me.

I laughed, "For what? Joining your crazy Uncle with helping murder people who don't deserve it."

He winced as my voice spit venom in each word. "Oh, I'm sorry that I don't understand you losing your loved ones." I say, regretting the words that followed. "I'm sorry I don't know what it's like to watch your family burn alive."

"Sorry." I mutter, closing my eyes and letting out a short sigh.

"No, I deserved that. I was too blind to understand what was really happening. He was lying straight to my face and I didn't even realize because I was too caught up in the fact of getting a family member back to be with." He confessed. "I'll admit, I felt lonely, even with you by side. But I also feel used by everyone."

"Used? I didn't use you." I scoff. "I like you way too much to be able to do that." I admitted.

"Not you." He said, looking towards me, "I'm talking about Peter, Stiles, Scott, Kate. They all used me for their own needs. You need me and want me in a different way than they do. Yours is more about our relationship. Their needs are more about their own personal problems."

"Wow, it got really depressing in here." I joked, earning a small chuckle from him. "I understand how you feel." I assure him, thinking about Lydia. "Lydia used me for popularity. Which I could easily destroy but I care about her too much to let that happen."
