Gwendolyn

"It is a pleasure to finally meet the woman that has enticed so many of my men and I will admit that you are very beautiful." The man said and kissed my hand.

"I can't say the same about you." I wiped my hand on my dress.

He cleared his throat and walked down the stairs. Damien urged us to follow him.

Serena helped me down the stairs slowly and we were guided to a table with a blue table cloth.

Every other table had a white table cloth.

The same man who liked to spread his germs sat across from me. "You're probably already familiar with my name."

"No actually and to be honest I don't care." I said and he looked suprised.

Damien sat beside me and laughed. "She's feisty."

"It's fine. My name is Marquis and what is your name?" He asked Serena.

"Serena." Her voice was filled with anger.

Any further questioning was interrupted by a woman being dragged into the room and thrown into the empty chair beside Marquis.

Miranda glared daggers at Marquis as he smiled. "Miranda it's so nice to see you again."

"I'd be lying if I said the same." She bit back.

He patted her cheek roughly. "We'll discuss this later. In private."

I took a second to examine Marquis. He has dark brown hair and dark brooding eyes.

Xavier was much more handsome.

"So Gwendolyn how is your baby?" Damien asked as spaghetti was served.

"Damien, you and I both know that it's none of your concern how Xavier's child is doing." I said.

I put emphasis on Xavier's name and his hand curled into a fist.

"We will not speak of that Demon at such a joyous event." Marquis said.

"Xavier? A demon?" I asked. "That's a little bit of an exageration."

"I think it fits his crimes against me. He will soon pay for them however." Marquis took a bite of spaghetti.

"The only crime he's committed in my book is not finding me yet." I said. "Oh and I've been meaning to ask. Aren't we allowed a phone call in prison?"

Marquis laughed. "She's got a mouth on her."

"Yeah." Damien was unfocused on what he was saying and I suddenly felt like someone was staring at me.

"Miranda where have you been all this time?" Marquis asked. "You should've known you can't hide from me in my own house."

She was silent, refusing to even look at him.

I watched everyone eat for a few minutes and finally decided that the food was safe.

After the spaghetti chocolate pudding was served.

Then the floor was cleared and people began to dance.

"Would you like to dance Miranda?" Marquis asked.

"That would be kind of hard to do in shackles." She moved her dress aside to expose the cuffs around her ankles.

"Oh well your behavior can't be helped. What about you Gwendolyn?"

"I'm good right here." I said as Serena gripped my arm.

He whispered in my ear, glancing at Serena. "There are forty different men in this room armed and ready to shoot when I give the sign. Twenty-two of them are focused on her as of right now. Do I need to explain any further?"

I glanced at Serena and she continued tapping her foot lightly to the beat of the music.

I turned to Serena. "Hey, stay with Miranda for a minute."

She nodded and inched towards Miranda as I was pulled away into the crowd.

Marquis put his hands on my waist and I drooped my arms loosely around his neck, resisting the urge to strangle him.

"You are a wonderful dancer." He said trying to start conversation. "Maybe one day you'll dance for me."

"I can promise you with every cell in my body that, that will never happen."  I said.

"Why not? You've got the experience in." He said slowly. "Isn't that right, Ginger?"

I almost fell over at the sound of my name. "Don't call me that. How did you find out?"

"I've got my connections." He twirled me.

"Unfortunately for you I don't do that shit anymore, have a blessed day." I pulled away from him.

He spun me around, my back against his chest and his hand just below my belly. "Don't walk away from me. I will not tolerate disrespect."

I bit my lip as he spun me again, finishing with and elegant dip. "Fuck you."

"That can be arranged. I can just imagine his face now." He kissed the base of my cleavage. "That demon."

"The only place I consider Xavier to be a demon is between my legs." I smacked his face. "You pervert. Get off of me."

He didn't respond angrily liked I expected him to, instead he laughed. "You're still holding onto the ridiculous hope that he is going to save you. But know that the moment I see him, I kill him."
