Chapter 2

Naruto had finally returned to Konoha. As always the villagers still gave him glares but, some girls stared at him with hearts in their eyes while the rest had sparkles in their eyes, much to Naruto's dislike. To him it was always going to be the same, fangirls or not. Konoha is hell for him.

As Naruto walked through he shoved his hands into his pockets and sighed. Great now I'm the one with fangirls. At least now I know how Sasuke feels when fangirls are around. Naruto thought rolling his eyes and tried to avoid eye contact with the girls around him.

Naruto stopped looking at the familiar area and smiled. At full speed he ran up an electricity pole and stood on a water tank, welcoming the view of Konoha. A fresh, cool breeze hit his face gently and the blonde smiled to himself.

Everything seemed the same, the buildings and the people. He always loved the view and the breeze, it was calming and it always cleared his mind, as a child and now.

"Naruto?!" A familiar feminine voice exclaimed from below. Naruto's eyes widened and he gently smiled looking down to meet a certain pinkette.

Naruto jumped down landing gently in front of Sakura. The blonde grinned and waved, "hey, Sakura-chan." He greeted in his usual happy-go-lucky tone.

"Hi, Naruto-kun." Sakura said with a slight blush appearing on her cheeks. Woah, woah, woah. Did she just call me Naruto-'KUN'?? Naruto thought in shock and disbelief.

"Ummm. Sakura-chan...whats with the kun?" Naruto nervously asked whilst raising an eyebrow and tilting his head to the side.

"Well, while you were gone, Sasuke asked Hinata out. So now they're together." Sakura explained as she fiddled with her fingers, a blush appearing on her face.

"To be completely honest, I never really liked Sasuke, I mean I liked him as a friend, but nothing more. It was just an act to fit in with everyone else. We've been childhood friends, since the day you saved me from those other girls and since then... I've always like you, instead."

Naruto made an 'o' shaped mouth.

"That makes a lot more sense." Naruto said scratching the back of his head sheepishly laughing followed by a moment of awkward silence between them.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Kakashi appeared in a swirl of smoke. Both the blonde and the pinkette praised their teacher mentally for saving the from the awkward silence.

"Glad to see you back Naruto." Kakashi said eye smiling.

"It's great to see you too Kakashi-sensei." Naruto said smiling as well.

"Say how strong have you gotten?" Kakashi asked out of curiosity rubbing his chin and eyeing Naruto up and down. Naruto sweat dropped as he looked at Kakashi who was still eyeing him. He's a total gay pervert... Naruto thought. He shook his head and shrugged.

"Well, Kakashi your just gonna have to find that out yourself." Jiraiya said from behind Naruto and patted the blonde on the back.

Whilst the three talked Sakura looked at Naruto who was grinning and soon noticed that he had gotten much more mature than he used to be. Although, his attitude seems to be the same as always and she smiled.

"Hey Naruto-kun, have you noticed that your taller that me now?" Sakura asked standing on her tippy-toes and hovered her hand above his head and then hers.

Naruto stopped smiling and looked at Sakura as she did so, "huh, never actually noticed." He said and grinned making Sakura slightly blush.

Suddenly a boy with a very long blue scarf and spiky brown hair ran up to Naruto, he raised his leg and went for a kick. Naruto for a second turned serious and grabbed the boy's ankle wit his right hand.
