"I was wondering if you're free to go on a date with me this Saturday?"
I feel sick, God please tell me this isn't happening. I can't believe Jungkook dragged me all the way here to get me to go on a date with Namjoon!
"No way!" I instantly turned the offer down.
Namjoon frowned. "So you have plans?"
"I- well... no I don't, but-"
"Then it should be no trouble spending some time with me, yeah?" he asked, a hopeful smile slowly appeared.
I looked down, thinking frantically. There was not even a tiny fraction of my being that wanted to spend any more time than necessary with him.
"You've grown quiet, Y/N," he started. "I guess I'll just take that as a yes, then!"
I was about to yell in protest, but someone beat me to it!
"She's not going with you!"
"Jungkook?" I was shocked that he spoke up, and he looked... angry? But why? He was the one to arrange this meeting.
"Oh? What's this all about, Jungkook?" Namjoon questioned the boy with an intense stare.
Jungkook glanced over at me. It probably wasn't difficult for him to notice my nervous shifting and fidgeting.
"Y/N and I are dating! Yeah, so she can't go with you" Jungkook's voice shook so much that his nose might as well have grown, too.
Namjoon looked at him, unamused. He wasn't going to believe such a badly sold lie. I had to go along with it! I stood close to Jungkook, grabbed his arm with both of mine, and leaned my head on his shoulders.
Namjoon chuckled, then turned around and began walking away. So he was convinced? I watched him walk away, and I caught a glimpse of his face. He was just smiling.Jungkook and I stood there for a while, in the middle of a mall. I realized I was still clinging to him, as if for dear life. Embarassed, I quickly released him from my death grip.
"Sorry..." I felt bad for all the trouble, even though Jungkook was the reason I got caught up in this mess today in the first place. Then again, he also helped me. I quickly added a soft "Thank you" that was just loud enough for him to hear.
I looked around a bit frantically, then hesitantly peered up at Jungkook.
What? His face is red. I do believe that is a blush. Oh, it is, it most certainly is. akjdjs
"Whatever, just forget it. I'm going home," he started walking away without checking if I was following. It was hardly a gesture towards me, but I still felt a strange pang of hurt.
"Hey, wait up!" I instinctively called out to him, and ran to catch up. "Well that's awfully rude of you," I added when he didn't reply.
"What is?"
"Leaving me behind."
"What's it to you?" he snapped, taking me aback. "You hate me, remember? And I announced that I'd be leaving. Don't tell me you've suddenly become sensitive."
I went silent, realizing the way I thought of Jungkook had made almost a complete 180 compared to our first encounters. I'd subconsciously accepted that we'd grown closer.
"Y/N, listen," he interrupted my thoughts.
I hummed a response, and looked up at the tall boy.
"I think it's best we stop talking to each other," he deadpanned. "I know I initiated our whole fiasco of a meeting, but I need you to forget about me. Sounds good to you, right?"
