Later that day.

After that I didn't dare stay behind in that room. My mother had known all along what they had planned for me and didn't care to share the news. The thought raged in my mind. She knew...I could have died that day put some how I didn't. I was surprised at that, when I had woken up in that very room and hadn't noticed the damage until someone pointed it out to her.
   Recovery was painful, when I got home I slept for 2 days then Grayson kept bugging me about the meditation I was supposed to take to dual the pain a bit. I had delt with worse when it was me and my father barley struggling to survive in the damned city. Memories flooded my mind from when I just had turned 13, I was stabbed over a good deck and all of my money taken away. It was hard to recover after that but after I learned what cheating could do for survival.
           Even as a young kids I still remember what training I went through as a junior high student that was required. I never under stood why but it was and now it made perfect since now then it did. So many thoughts rang through my mind and soon I dazed off. In the waiting room looking at the city scape. The wonderful city we lived in was a hell, people hasn't seen it yet.
    .        A slight touch brought me back into reality. Grayson stood behind his hand gripping my shoulder and his soft gray eyes that some how gave off a red hue. I've known him for less than a year or more I'd forgotten. He gave a reassuring smile at me but faded into a thin line. I smiled back at him but that also faded as well.
 .    We watched the sun set together. The sky was with hues of blue and purple also reds fading into one another. The whole team knew where we had to go next. It was clear. That man had said it clear as day. The question was if Mae would take the news well.

Jack open the front door. The smell of food hit my nose. I rushed in and found Mea cooking. Jack was already shoving food in his face when I sat down. Grayson sat on the stool next to mine. Even though living as an exchange student from pearl city didn't help the case either. It was clear both of us where from pearl. Sharper jawlines, more mystical eye colors and self defense. Almost every person of perilan desent had self defense since we where kids and we where grateful for it.
     After I was given my plate of food I dug in. We all ate and joked about what jack would do without Mea's chicken. Finally I had to break it to her.
   " Ah Mea..... There's something you need to know..."
She lifted an eye brow " are you and Grayson a thing now?" She asked
I sat there in complete shock. Jack was laughing his ass of and Grayson just looked at me.
" Mea?"
She waved her fork around " come on you guys are close enough as it is..."
" Mea's right" jack started
" Bullshit you don't know anything!" I took a piece of food and threw it in his face.
" I know...but he's by your side almost 24/7 "
" So are you guys going to homecoming together?" Mea shoved food in her mouth before I could protest.
" I honestly don't know about homecoming...." I started. Then looking down at the padded cover over my nub.
" Come in it will be fun...." Grayson started
" Remember last time....."
Mea spit her water " IM SORRY WHAT!" she yelled
" not like that. I mean" my voice shuddered and I looked at Grayson
" Help..."
He threw his hands up" I didn't open my mouth..."
" Your help...."
He shrugged and went back to his food.
" What is he talking about?" Mea asked
" Nothing Mea. Nothing bad..."
" Alright...." She turned her head at Jack " all of us are going to home coming..."
" Well though shit...I can't go.."
" And why is that..?" Mea turned her head
" Mea..... Me in a dress.....I can't. I already get looks for gym." I snapped
She didn't say anything after that. Instead I took my food and went up to my room. Surly as always Grayson was behind me. I rushed when I realized how close he was. The room door slowly creaked open. I turned on the lights with my shoulder and set my food down on my desk. Grayson had closed the door behind him.
" About homecoming...." His voice was hardly above a whisper.
  " Look. Love I don't want to be a laughing stalk......today....gym...the highway...there's not much I can do to cover these marks..."
  He stiffened at what I had called him " what on hell makes you think your laughing stalk....?"
" I don't know...." I fell back on my bed. The sheets smelled some what like Grayson and fresh sent of laundry soap.
" Lryia...." I ignored him " Paris..." My eyes shot to him. My back screamed when I sat up and how much of a effort it was to stay up.
" Look if you go to home coming and I'll try to convince your mother to let me to  your next surgery...."
  I was told after I had woken up at my back took way more damage then it should have. And that wasn't a surprise. They said it would take a few surgery's to put back muscle tissue and hopefully reset some nerves.
  I dropped to my elbow  " have fun with that...."
" I'm sure It will be.."
He smiled and sat down next to me. I could feel his heat coming off him considering what his powers it was basically normal.
       Ever since saving Aora city and pearl and gained grayson but also losing Sean with no trace. It was easy to talk to eachother some how. We knew the pain of this life and having 2 hearts to having these types of powers. It even if doctors said it wasn't possible and it is just through a painful process.
      Suddenly I felt a pair of soft lips on mine. Quickly after a panic I kissed back, his hands instantly went to steady me out. My one hand went to his neck. Soon strong hands gripped my waist. Then he broke the kiss off. I opened my eyes to find how close he was to me. He let go and sat back on the wall and looked at me blushing. I sat up and looked at him and blushed well.
  " Sorry...." He rubbed the back of his neck
   I had no words for what just happened. We both we just looked in each other's eyes.
   " Fine I'll go to homecoming.." he threw himself on me. Taking me into a big hug. I wrapped my arm around him.
