A swarm of jets flew over the city and something fell, from the open bay green smoke came out of them, they came crashing into the ground and many people fell. The screams of the people running for cover got worse until i couldn't take it. coughing for my life.
I felt an air mask over my mouth and nose, was I saved or just dreaming? My whole body was sore from the previous days before. My ribs hurt as I started to breathe on my own but better. But no one else was around in the small hotel building that we've been taking refuge for months now. I looked around the space. Nothing changed. slowly I moved my body to find my father messing around with a small red radio.
" where am I?" I asked. I felt pain at the base of my skull and all the way down my spine.
" were safe for now" His eye's met mine.
" what happened?" He walked over to me. His body towering over my 100-pound body frame.
" Don't worry about it, for now just sleep until help arrives?" my father said, Again and Again, the small shocks continued up and down my spine. I could feel them make their way through my body making my heart speed up. After that, I felt another beat in my left side.
I woke up again. feeling the changes throughout my body but yet I couldn't place it. Nothing had changed since I went to sleep. O still found my father messing around with the red radio. After hours of trying to get the radio to work it, it finally light up to life. quietly my dad started to talk to another person. Their conversation was too quiet for me to hear but I hoped it was something helpful to get us out.
He stayed by one of the giant windows and kept looking down at the carnage down on the streets. I couldn't bring myself to look out any window. In the corner away from my dad's watchful eye, I crawled my way over to the busted console. The wire's where hanging out of the wall. slowly I felt the rush I left the night before, the shocks, increased heart rate, and the out of place beat in my side. I played with them until the rush faded away and my body drifted off to sound sleep once more.
I didn't realize I had fallen asleep again. my dream felt so real and I wanted to say in a life where I knew my mother, my father had a good job and I had a sister. when I looked over at my sleeping father, the sky was dark and almost black. The rain had already started to pound on the windows. Thunder and lighting light up the sky giving me a sense of peace in this ruined city. A nation at war and 3 other militaries involved.
Something didn't feel right at all. My slowly fluttered open to the sound of voice's down in the lobby. Quietly rolled off my makeshift bed over in the corner and crawled over to the hole in the floor. My stomach dropped to the floor, In my view, I could see men dressed in black military uniforms with the white star patch on the shoulders. Again I crawled to my dad
" Dad wake up!" I said through clenched teeth.
" what is it?" he mumbled
" they found us"
My dad shot up and looked down the hole into the lobby " great"
" How did they?" I followed my dad throughout the office. He started to collect all of the bags he had packed the day before. He opened a closet and closed it with my hand print.
" -I don't know" quickly he started to put his shoes on and collecting more things towards his space.
I quickly put my shoes on " can we get out?"
" with them blocking the entrance no but we can go up" Both of our eye's went to the staircase doors.
" we would have to use the staircase," I said
