Date: Mid September

It had been 3 weeks since Jess was left
in the tower. Alex had been all over the place looking for Sean but to no avail nothing came up. It also has been peaceful with the court for the few weeks but it was sure to come to an end. Even with the private meeting with Lexi, I wondered if she had kept her word about Sean and wouldn't go public with his ties with the squad and the war over pearl.

It's been nice to take a break from all of the fighting and death. Tonight was homecoming. Grayson had left to go get his suit from Alex and I was left at home with Mea doing my hair.  after piece she curled and sprayed . Soon my hair was done.  And felt more heavy then it should.

" There, all done" Mea backed up

" Thank you" I stood up and looked in the mirror. The only image I saw was my self. Almost a year ago.

" Grayson is waiting..."

Jack cut me from my thoughts " of course wouldn't want to keep him waiting"

" no we wouldn't" slowly I got up from the bathroom counter. The wood seemed more slicker then I remembered it be. My heels clicked on the floor with each step down the stair case. Once I saw Grayson at the bottom of the stairs, my heart almost stopped. He wore an dress shirt, a vest with a tie, The same color as my dress.

Everything stopped when he looked at me. Everything. His eyes watched me the whole way down. Once I reached the bottom he took everything in.

" So much for a night off?" Grayson joked

" I'm sorry but that doesn't exist" we both laughed. 

" Well. Picture time" Mea pushed them both together. Grayson wrapped his arms at my waist and held me fight. My stomach had butterfly's now. Somehow now hard to breathe mad everything much worse. I held my breath for the photos and probably would the entire night.

" Let's hope nothing too bad happens" Grayson turned his head towards me. We both knew that look. Something would go down. We had big red targets on our back, everyone knew.

" Right, shall we" I motioned for us to leave.

The school gym was packed when we showed up. Everyone dancing to the music, having a great time. Something I enjoyed very little as a kid now even it gotten harder too. Even if I was perfectly calm and had my arm back. I would still be in the same place.

The small com link in my ear buzzed when Mea walked away. It left like years once she did. I was to hear Alex's voice again.

" Anything yet?" He asked

" No."

" Watch everyone. You don't know who is innocent and who is court"

" Alright, Stand by. Lighting out" I turned. I was glad that the loud music covered my interactions with Alex or else Mea would kill me.

Finally after along while of walking around, Jack found me. His friends had no date but they where proud.

" Where's Grayson?" Jack asked

" Checking something, why do you ask?"

" You think something can happen?"

" Something will"

Again Grayson joined up with me. His expression said everything I needed to know. He found nothing. And that seriously put me on over the edge. I stood in a corner looking at everyone. Until a hand snaked around my waist.
