We've been looking for a day already, but we're going out again today, this time Tara is coming too. Gaby, Cameron and Liam are at home, but geared up in case we do need them, but only if absolutely necessary; Dad's making sure of it. He doesn't know how Cameron fights yet and we haven't been able to see him train, so he's a wild card.

I tug on the bond, drawing a low groan over it, but it sparks hope in me. We haven't been this close, and I can feel the bond buzzing. We found a note an hour ago, saying where to meet, and what time. Let's just say that note is a pile of ash.

A low groan is picked up by me and I run towards it, Dad yelling behind me. I don't care, I know that sound, usually when he's hurt. I arrive in a clearing, Dad running up behind me with everyone else hot on his heels. And the sight shocks me.

A lake lies just beyond the tree line, behind one row, and a tree is in the middle, Callum leaning against the trunk, Kayla on the other side.

And Nate tied to it.

His head is lolled back, a gag in his mouth and sweat glistening on his forehead. He pants heavily, but I can tell he's knocked out, and his magic isn't there.

I go to run forward, but Dad catches me around the waist, and I whirl around to face him, a seriousness to his eyes. "We need to think about this," he growls lowly.

I nod, grinding my teeth as my magic boils in me. I eye Callum, the smirk on his lips cutting into my heart, and I flick my eyes over to Kayla, the bitch way too close to my mate. I should go for her, make her suffer the same way-

"Well well, seems you all got the message," Callum starts, my magic growling lowly at him. "That's good. All we want is Jade and Herobrine, and we'll give Nathan back to you just like that, a bit dopey but otherwise unharmed."

"No chance," Karn snarls.

"Well, looks like he'll pay for it," Callum replies, shrugging, hazel eyes glued to mine, and he jabs Nate in the neck with a needle, a moment of silence follows before a scream tears through the forest, coming from Nathan. Before Dad, or anyone can stop me, I rush forward, making a beeline for Nate, for my mate who is writhing around in pain, crying out. Callum catches me in his arms, and it's then that I feel the sudden onslaught of emotions that knocks me to my ass.

There's a lot of people here.

"Get back!" I yell at my family, and that's when I hear the order.

"CHARGE!"

At least a hundred villagers run forward, wielding spears and swords, arrows start raining down on us from above, one catching me in the shoulder, a cry of pain coming from me. I reach my sword up behind me, cutting off the tip before pulling the projectile out, wincing in pain as I do so. I leap at Callum again, my sword drawn this time, and I cut him across the cheek. "He was your friend!" I shout at him, cutting him on the arm before he's able to get out his own sword, clashing against mine. "He trusted you."

"If it weren't for you, he wouldn't be screaming in pain," Callum growls back, getting me on my once infected leg, blood drawn, and I yell a war cry, leaping on top of him. I sheath my sword, punching him in the face, hit after hit.

A bunch of villagers come over, wrenching me off Callum, trying to tie Imorphia woven ropes around my hands, or anything they can get their hands on. I won't kill them, they're innocent, confused, think they're doing the right thing. So instead, I let my magic pour forward, wrapping around each of the three men's' throats, dragging them into the air. As soon as they pass out, I drop them again, running over towards the tree, but a woman gets in my way. She throws a potion at my feet, and I instantly feel my magic getting suppressed, but I fight through it, defending myself with my sword, the two of us in a deadly dance.
