Nathan's PoVWe haven't found her. It's been six days. She went out to the Overworld and didn't return, and we've been looking since that night. She would've linked me, or Hero, who is thankfully, up and slowly walking again, but I see the worry constantly inhabiting him, and his magic. He's unsettled and panicking, wanting to know where his daughter is, but he can't do much, he's just come out of a coma.
But everyone else has been trying to find her.
I visited the nearby village the next day, but no one had seen her, and I asked Callum to keep an eye out for her, I know I can trust him. Someone also tried to get into the Nether the other day, but Hero alerted Karn and I, and we got to them before the pigmen even realised what had happened. He was armed with different magic suppression potions and an Imorphia drenched dagger. He was killed on sight.
Let's just say, my magic enjoyed us sinking our teeth into his throat.
But he didn't tell us where Jade is. And it's driving the both of us nuts, because I can feel ghosts of the pain she must be feeling. The other day, I swear it felt like someone was scratching at my back, scared the hell out of me.
I swirl my cup of coffee in front of me, but I can't stomach it, not while knowing Jade is somewhere out there, suffering and alone. Hero sits across from me, his eyes closed as he focuses in on his magic, trying to get it up more. He's been trying to get it going again, after being in a coma it's been weakened, much like muscles do. He opens his eyes again, yet they don't glow, they haven't yet, but I can feel his magic swirling slowly, a worry dampening his spirit.
Suddenly, his head snaps up and his magic perks up slightly. "Someone's at the portal," he tells me quietly. I nod to him and hop off the seat, running forward while a shift takes over my body, and soon I'm on all fours, my paws powering me forward as a bloodlust overcomes me. "Nathan!" Hero calls out. With a groan, I turn around, running back over to him and kneeling down so he can climb on. "Thanks, kid."
I race forward again, sprinting towards the portal where Callum stands, blood running from his lip and a bruise forming in his cheek. His eyes widen in relief as I halt to a stop, Hero instantly running up to him.
"Shit, kid, you okay?" He asks, looking over Callum.
"I'm fine. I know where Jade is," he says desperately.
I shift back into human form and walk up to him, my hands on his shoulders as Hero moves out of the way. "Where is she?"
"In the middle of town. She's been strung up on a pole for about three days."
"And why was I not told," I growl lowly, Cal's eyes widening further.
"They got me too! I just escaped now, it's where all these cuts and shit are from. I just got out, I came here as soon as I could."
"You okay?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine. But you need to go, she looked dead when I saw her."
"Shit." I go to dive through the portal, but Hero's hand on my shoulder stops me, and I whip around to see him standing there calmly, but this time, his eyes are glowing. "We need a plan, we can't just barge in there, the villagers won't be happy, we need to go under cover. We can't go in there unarmed, especially without my magic. We need to get Karn here as well."
"Fine, but hurry up."
He nods and pulls his magic in as much as possible, teleporting away and leaving me with the Callum. "How about I get you a drink?" I ask him gently, turning around to him.
