The song above is the song Liam's singing

----------------------------------------------------------

I wander through the halls, trying to find someone. Nathan has a shift today, he's in the village, Callum promised he wouldn't let any other girls touch him. I do really enjoy Callum's company, he's a good friend of Nate's and loves to tease him in only ways best friends can.

That's when I hear the strum of a guitar. I quietly follow it, the different chords leaking out from a cracked door. I peek inside to see Liam sitting on his bed, surrounded by different papers, scribbles covering them.

"If you'd occasionally happen to spy on me

You'd think I'm having one sided conversations

But I hear him talking back

You'd think I may even lack some sanity

But maybe I can't let go,"

I sit down against the wall, listening to him sing, his voice low and sad, the room coursing with the sorrow, yet also nostalgia.

"So I'll say

I finally wrote your song at last

Sorry that this one came out so sad

Every tear I had

Was shed for the man that gave me a better sense

Of life and meaning to motivate

There's no shortcuts to success

I'll wait for his guiding hands

My guardian angel until the very end,"

This poor kid, he's been through so much, he's been hurt in so many ways I couldn't imagine. He's had his whole family ripped away from him, he's had his life turned upside down.

"I see a cold seat on the couch

Where I remember that just four years ago around December

You sat me down and

Held me next to you so close

How I long for things to be restored

To back when times weren't quite this hard

And record that song you sang to me

Never rang so loud before,"

I start walking away from Liam's room, on a quest to find Dad. I go up to his room, knocking on the door, but I get no response. "Dad, you in there?"

No reply.

I carry on, going into the dining hall to see him sitting with Cole and Steve, the three of them laughing about something, a happiness buzzing around the three of them. I lean against the doorway, watching as they banter back and forward, each drinking a drink as Dad's and Cole's magic swirls joyfully.

It's good to see the three of them happy again, they definitely deserve it, especially with the rollercoaster of a year we've had. I decide to leave them be, I'll talk to Dad later.

I find myself back in my room, and I grab my drawing pad, sitting down at my desk as I start sketching, my magic deciding to come out, shadows starting to swirl around me, looping around my shoulders and flowing off me, little sparks of flames in them, but they don't light anything in fire. I feel it caress my face, wrapping me in a hug. Once I'm done, I flip the book shut, closing the drawing of my own demise, of the darkness that seems to be consuming me, and I don't mean my magic.

Maybe we can get through all this together?

Maybe we can fight off these feelings?

But emotions are invincible, it seems.
