toby and bea

what will they think of me

it has been 3 months since i woke up and i am learning how to walk with prostetic legs. they are really hard to walk in and they also hurt what ever is left of my legs. today i also can finnaly leave the hospital and go back home and first grade starts in a few days so what will they think of me.

"can i go home now please" i ask the doctor giving my best puppy dog face.

"yes you can after you parents fill out these forms alright" he says smiling.

he hand a few papers to my mom and dad. toby has visited me every day and his hair is growing back and he dosent have the sling anymore. i sit up and gab my prostetic legs and put them on. ( she only lost he legs just below the knee) i get up and go into the bathroom to change out of the hospital gown. a few minutes later i come out and my mom and dad say i can go home now and i jump up and down. after we get home caleb runs and hugs me and i hug back.

"im glad your home bea i missed you so much" he says

i giggel "me two caleb but what will the people in my class think of me i have no legs" i say with sadness

"dont worry i will be with you the whole time we are in the same class this year" he says "im gonna go play outside with my friends do you wanna come" he asked

"no im fine go play at least you can" i say as i walk over to the stairs  up to my room.

when i enter toby is sitting on my bed holding teddy .

"hey i said no touching teddy he is mine" i say with a smile

he looks up and runs to me hugging me "your out of the hospital finnaly wanna go play" he says really happy.

i nod and he runs down the stairs while i walk making sure i wont fall. when we get outsid ei see zeke and uriah playing with caleb. i quickly hide behind toby scard they will hurt me.

"uriah give me the ball its my turn to throw" zeke complains

just then caleb sees me and motions for me to come over. i slowly walk over hoping zeke and uriah wont notice me.

"bea whats wrong these are my friends i was talking about" caleb says

"those are the boys that throw teddy into mud and pull my hair" i whisper to him

he looks at me suprisedthen yells at them to come here. they come over and they see me.

"oh look its the little girl wheres your teddy bear did he run away from you " uriah says then he was gonna says something else before zeke hit him in the back of the head and pointed to my legs.

"what happened where are your legs" zeke ask

" when we had that really big storm 6 months ago i was up in my tree house with tobias when i tree branch fell through the roof and hit him in the head then the tree fell down crushing my legs under the tree" i say while looking down not wanting to see them.

" are you gonna get your legs back at all beatrice" uriah ask saying my name instead of 'little girl' or ' babby'.

i shake my head and tears escape  and roll down my face and i run inside crying and lay down on the couch.

time laps im to lazy-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

today is the first day of school and im alredy up putting my legs on and walking downstares. i dont realy talk anymore becaus ei dont feel like it. after i eat a bowl of ceral my mom says it is time to go head out for the bus before we are late. after a few minutes the bus arrives and me, caleb, toby, zeke, uriah, will, and 3 new girls that just moved here when i was in the hospital. i get on last afraid what people will think. once i get on peaple star at my legs as i walk to the back of the bus to my usual seat next to will.

when we arrive at school will helps carry my book bag so i can walk to our class room. just then i hear over the loud speaker

"can beatrice prior come to the principals office please" the lady ask

will hands me my book bad and wishes me good luch. when i walk through the halls to the office peaple stare at me and make 'ohhh' ing noises as i walk past. once i get there the lady at the desk says i can sit down until the principal is ready for me. after a few minutes the principal comes out and says i can come back to his office. we walk back together and i sit in one of the chairs infront of his desk while he sits in the chair behind his desk.

"beatrice i have been hearing around the halls that something happened to you is that true" he ask

"yes sir its true" i say

"what did happen to you did zeke or uriah pull your hair again or peter take your bag away" he asked

"no sir that wasnt it" i say 

"then what did happen to you beatrice" he asks again

" i lost my legs when i tree fell down on me" i say looking down

"thats alright i just didnt want you hurt again you can go back to class now and have a good day and if anyone bugs you about it come tell me or a teacher" he says

i simply nod and walk out of the office back to my room. peaple keep staring at me.

this is the longest chapter i think so far so hope you like it
