There were too many things that Johum didn't bother about. She never cared when people talked behind her back, she never cared when her friends abandoned her - though it hurt a bit but she got over it. Hurt; it was one emotion she especially never paid any heed to. Why? Because she knew the more she felt it, the more painful it would be.
What would it bring? Anxiety, depression. She did not want that. But in all honesty, she couldn't think about anything other than that little kid and all it did was hurt her. It hurt so bad. She was never a crybaby but she couldn't just stop the tears that flowed down her cheeks, she was hurting and the flames of this emotion were licking up her heart.
She looked around frantically, in desperation as breaths left her mouth and turned in to smoke that vanished in to nothingness. Licking her dried lips once again, she looked around for any transport. Her eyes were cold, she was shivering and even her lips had turned blue. She wanted answers, she wanted to know why he had a kid and why did he hide it from her family. Before any further thoughts could drive her crazy, the crunching of snow and hard tapping of boots on the ground made her snap her head up.
Zayan strode towards her and his clenched jaw gave away the anger he was feeling. Johum cried as she looked at him and just thought about one thing, the amount of hate she had for him. He grasped her upper arm and dragged her inside once again, she didn't want to go with him but she did, reluctantly. She practically ran after him as he continued to treat her like trash.
She wiped her tears and moved her wanton hair out of her face as he walked inside with her and slammed the door shut. Johum was glad about the warmth that the house provided but otherwise she wanted to be anywhere but. She looked up at him after he threw her on the couch.
"Would it kill you to be nice to me for once?" She asked, even surprising herself with the smoothness and calmness in her voice. She had started to calm down a little.
"Why did you run? I tell you one thing and you do the exact opposite." He ran a hand through his hair agitatedly.
"I don't want to see you, you - you are despicable." He raised an eyebrow and placed his hands on his waist.
"Why? Because I have a daughter?" He looked at her in disbelief, "honestly, I used to respect you a little." He shook his head.
"I never wanted someone with kids before. I don't deserve this!" She fisted her hands as harshness seeped in to her tone, she stood up. "I never wanted you in the first place, I loathe you." She hissed, Zayan just watched, "and just when I started to accept the ill fate, I get to know that you have a daughter." She cried and sat down helplessly. "I hate her." She said through her tightly shut teeth.
Much to her surprise, Zayan bent down and grasped her chin in his grip, his eyes flashed, "You can not hate my daughter!" He was harsh, "I do not want someone like you to be around her, you don't deserve this either." He shook his head and let go of her chin. Zayan turned around and sighed, "You are just a pawn Johum, do not make yourself think even for a second that you will be something more." Johum wiped her tears.
She had never felt so worthless in her life before. She stood up.
There was silence for a long time. She thought he was done talking, so she decided to just walk out of the house but then he decided to speak. Zayan turned around and this time he had a softer look on his face, Johum had never seen such look on his face, maybe once before? But she was surprised, still.
"My daughter, she was...it's something complicated about my life alright?" And also this was the first time he stammered. Johum was confused now, "I will tell you when I can." He grabbed her hand and twisted the ruby ring around her finger. She stiffened.
