Next day, after her classes had finished Johum went home. Of course she remembered that she had to go to Zayan's because he had called her and she needed answers to a lot of questions but she needed to go home to pack a duffel bag. Because unfortunately she was spending the night. In the morning, zayan had made his great entrance at breakfast and confronted her father.
He told her family that apparently they had talked about whatever happened between them he would like to take her on a date and whatnot. Her father didn't agree right away and he asked a lot of questions. Zayan and Samir had a two hour conversation. Eventually, her father gave her permission but not before Murat threatened Zayan that if his sister came back home crying one more time, he would make everyone in his long generations cry.
Coming back to present, Johum packed the necessities in the small bag which included her toiletries, an extra pair of undergarments, a swim suit because Zayan had hinted here and there that there might be swimming involved and a hoodie in case she got cold.
It might sound really unbelievable but Johum didn’t know how to swim. She knew how to stay upright in water and not give in to the pull of deadly waves when in ocean but she never knew how to properly swim. If someone was dying in front of her, she’d probably wave them goodbye because saving them would be utterly impossible. And as for her packing swimsuits, she would definitely take a dip in Jacuzzi with the girls, she wouldn’t just sit there like a kid watching them.
She wasn’t close to Zayan’s friends even though they did try to befriend her a lot of times. But Johum was fond of Ramlah and even Ruhshan seemed like a good girl so she might as well enjoy her stay there instead of just sulking in the corner. Now so far she didn’t know what the night would include, of course it wouldn’t be movies and games because come on, it was Zayan’s house. He would probably work on his designs nonstop and leave her with his friends, not that she minded. Anyone was better than him.
The tankini that she packed was too modest for sluts and too revealing for modest people. She had only worn it two times before and of course, never in public. Her dad would kill her. She wore it at a girls night out at Samantha’s in good old days when Rua was still a little goody two shoes friend of hers. Second, she wore it when her cousins came over and they had a small pool party. Those were the only times she ever wore something like that.
Johum shoved everything inside her duffle bag and then strapped it over her shoulders. She walked out towards her car after talking to Murat who tried to convince her to stay and not go over if she didn’t feel comfortable. And he knew that she was still disturbed after what happened the other night when he found her in the study. She rolled her eyes at that and told him that she was fine and he didn’t need to worry.
Before leaving the house, Johum did not forget to grab her father’s phone and left her own in its place after setting a lock on it. She did it purposely because she still needed to find that formula and give it to Domenico, for him to be out of her life once and for all. She didn’t want to risk anything because he was a person who wouldn’t even hesitate to harm someone as innocent as Rüya, he even told her that and she didn’t want that for a little kid. Although he had promised her that he wouldn’t hurt anyone, but how could you trust a devil?
So no, she didn’t trust him but she had no choice but to believe him. She admitted that it was stupid of her to agree to his terms and the bastard knew it as well. He took advantage of her vulnerable condition, she was emotionally unstable when he placed the deal in front of her and she was feeling so much hatred for Zayan that she agreed without even giving it a second thought— without even thinking the consequences that could fall on her own family.
Yes, she regretted it, yes she wanted to tell Zayan and her father, yes she wanted freedom but could she? She had no choice. That man was like a spawn of Satan, he didn’t hesitate to threaten her and he wouldn’t hesitate to inject that stupid drug in to her blood again. And she only had two chances left.
