Crackling of wood was what caught Johum's attention in early morning. She had not been sleeping, actually she hadn't slept in the apartment for even once.
"What are you doing?" Getting up from the couch, she walked towards the fireplace with coffee in her hand. She raised an eyebrow at Murat, trying to light up fire.
"This'll heat up your place pretty soon." He stated while lighting up tenth matchstick. Johum rolled her eyes and shook her head at him.
"You can go home now, I'll be fine." Johum took a seat in front of him, letting him do whatever he wanted. He had been doing the same thing for a few days now. No wonder why she still went back to sleep at her father's place.
"I'm just making sure you have everything." He shrugged finally giving up on fire and taking a seat in front of her. He took the cup from her hands and took a sip of the warm liquid.
"Murat you don't need to do this. I'm not coming back tonight." Johum glared at him, taking her cup back. She had decided to move out of her father's house a while back. Almost a month had passed since she started living with her dad and left Zayan's place. Slowly, Johum's life was getting back on track, she had returned to her previous routine of waking up, going to university, and hanging out with friends. But it wasn't the same anymore. There was no Rua, there was no professor Za'ir to ogle, no going back to friends' house to have sleepovers. It just wasn't the same. She wasn't sure, didn't want to admit but probably, a little part of her was missing everything. And perhaps she was living in a fantasy where she thought she was happy.
Convincing her father to let her move out was not an easy task but he understood that she needed space from all of the things going on in her life. But only Johum knew that she needed space from whatever happened in past few months.
She hadn't begged her father to let her move out, she had just told him that she felt like that. And it would probably do her good. Of course Samir was reluctant but he let her do what she wanted. He had prepared the condo for her, the place that she knew once belonged to her father. Johum was happy about it even though it was fifteen minute distance from her father's house but at least she had her own place to live.
When Murat came back from Turkey a week after he had left, he was shocked to find out that their father agreed to something so absurd. He couldn't wrap his head around the idea of Johum living alone. He had first yelled at her to let go of this stupid idea, then he begged her, then threatened her and finally he agreed with her. Not that she would stay if he didn't agree.
But even though he was now okay with her being alone, he had been an absolute pain in the ass. It hadn't been a week since she decorated the place according to her taste and moved her things, and he visited her everyday— even forcing her to go back to their father's house at night. And he was the same today, trying to convince her to come back at night.
"Murat the area is highly secured. I will be alright now just leave me the heck alone. I moved out to sort things out on my own." She huffed, snapping the cup of coffee on the table. As if there weren't enough pushy men in her life.
"I didn't even say anything." He shook his head, pulling on that innocent face that had never worked on her and even he knew that.
"But you're not leaving." She narrowed her eyes, "I know you don't have office today but, I have a lot of tasks piled up so please leave."
"Well, alright but let's have dinner together." He stood up, slipping his hands inside the pockets of his trousers.
"No and don't you dare come back tonight. I won't be leaving with you." She shrugged, turning her back towards him.
