Cody was woken by bright lights and the footsteps of strangers. The room was empty, except for the chair he sat in. More correctly, the chair he was strapped to.
Cody looked at his captors, who were speaking in whispers with their backs to him. They both wore gray clothes. The one who was less than human had purple skin and a demon-esque appearance. Not that he seemed imposing. The other, whose humanity he could smell, was about 22 years old and angry about something. Her tanned skin and brown hair went well with her brown eyes.
The human turned to him, looking into his eyes. Cody stared right back, undoing his straps with his claws. He smiled. She hadn't even noticed.
But her partner had. In a puff of smoke, he was right in front of him, his three-fingered hands gripping his wrists.
"Nice trick there," the creature said mockingly, "But you can't do that with two people in the room. Remember that." In fright, Cody headbutted him. The purple-skinned man reeled backwards, and Cody snapped his straps. The woman leaped into action, but Cody slid between her legs and pushed her into the chair. Using his jacket, he tied the dazed woman to the chair.
But the brunette was more awake than Cody had thought. In an instant, she had taken off her gloves and grabbed him with her bare hands. A jolt went through him, and he felt himself start to weaken.
"What's the matter? Huh?" she almost screamed, "Feeling a little tired, are we?" Cody tried to rip free, but it was too late. He was already too weak to evade her grasp. He could feel his heart rate slow, he watched his vision blur. His breathing became more and more shallow.
"I'm gonna die," he thought, in a panic, "Oh, God, I'm gonna die." Suddenly, he fell into the chair, gasping for air and barely clinging to his senses. Her partner, the purple man, held her down and was scolding her on the other side of the room. A man came in, neatly dressed and obviously infuriated.
"What the hell was that, Julia?" he scolded, "You almost killed the boy!" Cody, in almost perfect timing, fell out of the chair, and began to cry.
"D*** it! D*** it!" he sobbed, "Where is he? Where am I? Who are you? Oh, God, please don't kill me!" The man hurried over, and cradled his head gently. The other two left, almost as if the man ordered them to.
"You're going to be okay," the man's voice echoed in Cody's head, "You're going to be alright." The man turned to a security camera in the back of the room.
"Send the three girls this way," he ordered to it.
"Yes, sir," a voice replied over the room's speakers, "Ema Foster, Dylan Redwood, Sarah Danley. Please visit Mr. Nolman in the room directly left of his office. Thank you."
