Cody was woken by the talking of his three roommates, who were still only in what they had slept in. He was having a hard time getting used to it, as they usually slept in their underwear. He caught himself staring at Ema's rear again, and tried to shake away this foreign feeling of lust.
"Good morning, Cody!" Ema chirped as she braided her hair. Dylan and Sarah quickly followed with their morning salutations.
"Morning, Cody!" Sarah smiled.
"Are you ogling Ema's behind again?" Dylan smirked at Cody, taking every opportunity to harass him about it.
"Well, good morning to you, too, Dylan," Cody grumbled, hopping out of bed. He noticed Dylan and Sarah were busy changing into their clothes, but Ema had proceeded to idly put on a shirt.
"Later, you two!" Dylan grinned as she grabbed her backpack.
"You don't have classes this week, Cody," Sarah explained with a smile, "Ema's talked Mr. Nolman into letting her teach you."
"What?" he asked with surprise.
"You're gonna do fine, don't worry!" Sarah assured him, as she left, "Later!" Cody turned to Ema in confusion.
"So... what are we doing?"
"I," she began, "Am going to teach you basic arithmetic and grammar." Still without pants, she grabbed her backpack off the floor, and sat on her bed with it.
"So, we'll start with grammar," Ema told Cody, rifling through her bag, "Do you know the alphabet?" He was quickly able to recite it, leaving Ema nodding with approval. Seeing that he didn't know much beyond that, she proceeded to teach him the letters' various pronunciations.
"Why do the vowels have different pronunciations?" Cody asked.
"Well," Ema explained, "It's the difference between 'cat' and 'cake.' The word 'cake,' having a silent 'e' on the end, changes the vowel's length. It's mostly just a weird English language thing. Do you get it?" Cody nodded. She quickly hepled Cody learn the rest of the pronunciations which, to Ema's surprise, he learned almost instantly.
"Wow!" she exclaimed, examining her watch, "You're an hour and a half ahead of schedule!" She rummaged through the closet and, much to Cody's dismay, lifted out a pair of pants.
"We're gonna break for breakfast," she explained, sensing his disapointment, "And I can't just walk to the cafeteria without pants. Just like you can't without a shirt." He took the hint, and borrowed a shirt from Dylan.
"We still need to get you clothes, don't we?" she asked, "Well, we'll fix that next week." The two were joined by Dylan and Sarah in the cafeteria.
"Hey, Rapunzel," Dylan greeted as she slid in beside Ema, "How goes it, Cody?"
"Um, good," he replied, still unused to conversation. Sarah came from behind, sitting next to Dylan.
"Dylan sandwich!" she exclaimed. At once, Ema and Sarah pressed Dylan between them.
"Good to see you, Copycat," she smiled, trying to shove her roommates off of her, "Now let me eat, you two." The girls proceeded to talk amongst themselves, leaving Cody to wallow in his lack of social skills for fifteen minutes. Afterwards, Cody returned with Ema, and she taught him about the parts of a sentence before again breaking for lunch. Ema then taught Cody sentence diagramming before the two went to dinner, after which Sarah and Dylan joined them back at their dorm room. The four changed into their sleeping gear, which for Cody included his underwear as well as a pair of pants. Ema pulled out a deck of cards.
"Do you guys wanna play BS?" she asked. Dylan and Sarah instantly agreed, while Cody was a little more hesistant.
"How do you play?" he asked, joinging the trio's circle.
"Come on," Ema smiled, "We'll teach you!"
