A broken door and the putrid scent of corpses met Julia and Indy as they stepped into the house of Robert Oakman, an accomplished doctor and genetics researcher on the side. From the intel given to them, he had lived here with his two adopted teenage daughters, Miranda and Sarah.
"What a mess," Julia commented, her face contorting in disgust. Her partner, Indy, walked through the warzone, indifferent to the smell.
"Something big went down here." Indy thought aloud, "Those pools of blood. Julia, identify the owners." Julia bent down, took off a glove, and swirled her hand through it.
"The Oakmans."
"All of them?"
"Yes." Indy frowned in confusion, and teleported through the rest of the house.
"No bodies. Interesting."
"Looks like target blue made it out," Julia called to Indy. He nodded to himself.
"The Oakmans aren't dead," Indy said, continuing the investigation.
"Yes they are. There's enough of their blood here to bathe in."
"Their combined blood," Indy pointed out as Julia washed her hands, "And there are tire tracks in the gravel over here.
"Alright," she sighed, "So all four are at large?"
"Yes." Julia frowned at the news. It was going to be a long week.
